Les Campanules is situated on the edge of the beautiful Savoie village of Abondance and only 5 minutes walk away from the village centre, restaurants and shops - ideal for strolling up to get your baguette and croissant each morning. Having bought your baguettes and croissants enjoy them on the balcony in the morning sun. There is a cane settee, table, chairs and umbrella on the balcony.
The apartment is very comfortable and well equipped - everything you need for a most enjoyable stay. The apartment is suitable for couples or a family of up to six.
Abondance is not only a good winter ski resort (having it's own small ski area and a regular free bus service connecting it to the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area which is only 4 kms away) but a good all year round resort offering alpine walking, rock climbing,mountain biking, paragliding, kayaking, rafting, swimming, fishing, tennis etc.

Summer. The region is made up of lush green pastures abundant with alpine flowers, fast flowing rivers. waterfalls, high snow capped mountains and picturesque villages. Chairlifts operate giving access to alpine meadows, wonderful views and marked paths for both walking and mountain biking.
Winter is for skiing and the famous Portes du Soleil with 650 runs and 208 lifts is ideal for the very experienced skiers down to beginners. The area has a good snow record. Check on www.abondance.org/resort
Abondance area
The beautiful village of Abondance is a very pretty typical Savoyade village having a central square where a market is held every Sunday morning and numerous fetes during the year. There are hotels, bars, restaurants, a boulangerie, charcuterie, mini market, post office, bank, chemist, doctors, tourist information, ski hire and clothes shop. The medieval village is famous for its 900 year old Abbey and cloisters and also for the Abondance cheese which is made at the many farms in the area. There are numerous activities for both summer and winter. These include: walking, mountain biking, rock climbing, white water rafting and canoeing, paragliding, golf, tennis, horse riding, swimming (outdoor pool in nearby Chatel or in Lac Leman). In winter skiing, snow boarding and cross country skiing. The cross country track from Chatel finishes by Les Campanules.

How to get there
Abondance is only 40 miles from Geneva Airport (approx 1 hr drive). Numerous airlines ( Easyjet , BMI, BA, Swiss Air etc.) operate throughout the UK to Geneva. Rental car hire companies at Airport include Budget, Alamo, National, Europcar, Hertz and Avis and can be booked from either the French or Swiss side. From ferry at Calais the distance is approx 510 miles (approx 8 - 9 hr drive - mostly motorway)

Further details indoors: The apartment is open plan with a ladder staircase leading to the mezzanine and bedroom area. There is a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. At the other end of the mezzanine there is a settee which converts to 2 single beds.
The bathroom, which is off the living area, has a small bath with shower over and wash basin.
The living area has a double sofa bed, two seater settee, dining table and four chairs and two sets of drawers.
The toilet is off the kitchen.
The kitchen has a two ring hob, small oven, slow cooker, units and wardrobe type cupboard.
There is an additional heater besides the fixed electric heaters in the lounge, bedroom and bathroom.
