Set in the beautiful Rheidol Valley this listed building retains much of its original charm. With stunning views across a valley that is a haven for wildlife. The cottage is the perfect base to explore Aberystwyth, the Cambrian Mountains and the many attractions nearby such as superb walks, Sweet Lamb Rally Centre and Nant yr Arian Mountain Biking Centre.

Ground floor

Comfy lounge with woodburner, smart TV with free sat, docking station / sound system with bluetooth connectivity, 3 seater sofa (that can be made into a double sofa bed) and 1 arm chair.

Open plan kitchen-diner with seating for 4 people. A full sized fridge / freezer, electric oven and hob, washing machine, toaster, kettle and all cooking essentials. Patio doors opening out onto outside seating area.

Stylish bathroom with WC, sink and large shower unit.


Bedroom 1 : Master double bedroom with cupboard , vanity station, docking station alarm clock and skylight. Low level window with great views across the valley.

Bedroom 2 : Twin bedroom with Freesat TV, cupboard, dressing table and skylight window.


Private seating area and then a much larger shared garden space (shared with one other cottage on the same grounds). The garden is perfect for sitting out and enjoying the views or seeing the trout jumping on a summers evening in the river below.

Rheidol Cycle Trail – Follows the Rheidol Valley all the way into Aberystwyth, mainly along quiet back roads and dedicated cycle routes. 3 miles

Nant yr Arian Mountain Biking Centre - Includes the Continental Tyres Syfydrin Trail and is one of the premier Mountain Biking centres in Wales and the UK.1 mile.


Nant-y-Moch & Dinas Reservoirs, near Ponterwyd - Permits are available from the garage in the village and both hold good stocks of brown and rainbow trout. x Miles.

Excellent sea fishing around Aberystwyth including many shore fishing marks and charter boats available from Aberystwyth Marina. 12 miles.

Bird watching

You can enjoy the kites swooping over the cottage but the nearby Red Kite Feeding Centre at Nant yr Arian is also worth a visit 1 mile.


Capel Bangor set in 40 acres of parkland in the Rheidiol Valley 7.2 miles


Located in the village of Ponterwyd some 12 miles from Aberystwyth. The village has a great local pub, garage and shop, all of which are within walking distance.

The area is a perfect countryside escape and a great base to relax, it is also an activity hub for Mountain Biking and has excellent fishing. The cottage overlooks the River Rheidol that teams with wild trout and Nant yr Arian Visitor Centre, one of the premier Mountain Biking centres in Wales, is a 10 minute drive, where you can also watch the red kites being fed.

The area is famous for its many walks and trails, you can walk directly from the cottage and link up with many of them. One of the highlights include walking up to Plumlymon and the source of the River Severn.
