The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park region
The National Park encompasses around 720 sq miles (1,865 sq km) of some of the finest scenery in Scotland and is split into four distinct areas. Nether Glenny is within the Trossachs which is famous for it's wild glens and sparkling lochs between Callander and Aberfoyle. A highlight is the climb or drive up through the twisting Duke’s Pass to Loch Katrine.
It is a place of contrasts from rolling lowland landscapes in the south to high mountains in the north, and has many lochs and rivers, forests and woodlands. It is also a living, working landscape which has been influenced by people for generations and is visited and enjoyed by many for its recreational value.

"Great location for Fishing and Golf"
We have rented Buzzard cottage for the past two years and will do so again; God willing. The hired used of a boat offering exclusive access to Lake Menteith is a real benefit and makes Buzzard cottage a must for any anglers wishing to sample the not inconsiderable attractions of Scotland's premier trout water. The cottage is well presented, comfortable and clean and the owners Alison and Matthew make any stay here in and of itself a pleasant experience; nothing is too much trouble to them.
My friends stay here for the fishing and the opportunity to take on some truly delightful Golf course, Callander and St Fillans being a couple not to be missed.
In all a great place to stay if fishing and Golf are your "thing" but if you're simply looking for a spot to explore the area you could a lot worse. The views over the lake are memorable.

"Idyllic location. Cosy cottage to get away from the madding crowd."
Buzzard Cottage is ideal for two people. Very cosy with an authentic sitting room complete with wood burning stove. An up to date and well fitted kitchen is well equipped to enable guests who wish to prepare their own meals or do some laundry if so desired (washing machine very handy to wash walking gear). The bedroom is comfortable & spacious and the well appointed conservatory diner means you can enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside at any time, whatever the weather. It's a lovely place to stay.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am grateful for the opportunity to explain our dog policy which has not altered since this review.
Buzzard cottage is a dog friendly cottage and you are correct in your statement that we do not allow dogs to be left unattended in the cottage or to jump on the furniture. Your dog was unfortunately barking whilst left in the cottage and was on the furniture. It was clearly upset at being left unattended in a strange location. My husband explained this to you at the time and relayed to me that you were understanding about the situation. It surprises us then that you didn't say anything at the time.
Many of our guests bring a crate with them so that they can leave the dog for a few hours to visit a particular spot or take part in an activity that it is not suitable for dogs. Indeed, for our wedding guests, we even look after their dogs for the day, taking them for walks and out for the toilet.
Our policy has not changed since your review and we have welcomed dogs since and will continue to welcome dogs to Buzzard cottage. Our policy is for the comfort of all guests, those with and those without dogs.
We are also disappointed that the proximity of the main house was a surprise to you and I am grateful that you have admitted that this is something that you overlooked. We offer our guests complete privacy unless they wish otherwise and this is often the case. We are a very friendly and welcoming family and our reviews reflect this. If guests so wish we are only too happy to chat for a while about what the area has to offer, dogs or anything else that springs up in conversation. The main house and two self catering cottages sit in the centre of 84 acres of hillside and offer complete tranquility.
This area is fantastic for dogs and I hope that your review does not deter other dog owners from taking advantage of our beautiful Buzzard cottage which offers all the comforts of a luxury cottage, set admit stunning scenery and is totally dog friendly. Best wishes, Alison and Matthew Woods
