"Perfect family accommodation"
We had the pleasure of staying in Gorwel Cottage for 5 nights. It was beautifully presented and one of the cleanest holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. Barrie was fantastic to deal with and should we return to Wales, would definitely stay here again. The accommodation is perfect for families being on one level (with the exception of one small step) and the kids loved the toy box. Thank you for letting this beautiful property- highly recommended.
Thanks for the positive review and I'm pleased you had a good stay. Look forward to seeing you again sometime

"A pleasant Stay on the Llyn Peninsula"
At the request of My brother in Australia I phoned the local tourist office at Pwllheli explained the dates of our intended stay and the number of the party.
The office came back very quickly with some suggestions. From the information given Gorwel Cottage suited our needs.
The process of payment and information on the cottage facilities was very clear.
We were originally a party of five but at the last minute my niece, who lives in Spain, joined us for 2 nights.Bedrooms were fine, The cottage was quite easy to find. I used a satnav and the post code.
The kitchen had every item we could need. The views from the sitting room and from the two outside patios were wonderful. We could see the south coast of the Llyn peninsula and Bardsey island. Weather was good so our two full days exploring the south and north coast was successful.Several from our party are already thinking of a return visit.
Barrie Grayson met us on our arrival and was there when we left.
A very charming retreat.
Thanks for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Just for clarity, the island you can see from the cottage is St. Tudwals, not Bardsey, as Bardsey is behind the headland. Hope to see you again.

"Lovely cottage fantastic views."
We have been staying in or near Abersoch for many years and needed accommodation for a variety of ages. Gorwel fitted the bill extremely well. It is in a wonderful position with lovely views towards the sea. Kitchen and bathrooms very well equipped and beautifully clean.
Would highly recommend.
Thanks for your review and I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again sometime

"The best we have ever stayed in."
We have been travelling around Wales for a number of years now and Gorwel is by far the best we have ever stayed in. We had a lovely welcome and the milk, bara brith and wine were a lovely touch. The house is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and better equipped than home! We had fantastic weather and it was too hot to travel far but we didn't really want to. The garden and summer house are beautiful and very well maintained. The views of the sea are lovely and the pictures on line do not do them justice. We had a fantastic holiday and were made to feel very welcome. We had such a nice time we booked for next year as soon as we got home! Thank you Barrie and Joan for a great holiday.
Thanks for your kind words and we look forward to welcoming you back next year. Will try to organise the weather again!

"Gorwel the best"
Just returned from one week at Gorwel Cottage with our family including two grandchildren age 9 and 12. To say it's the best cottage we have ever stayed in is an understatement. It's perfect in every way. The interior, the gardens, the summerhouse, the location. You feel the owners are always there if you needed them but never overlooking you. It has to be one of the best cottages in wales and Joan's Bara Brith cake is the BEST ever. Thank you from all of us for a GREAT holiday
Thanks Peter - Joan was particularly pleased with your review of her Bara Brith. See you again sometime

"Exceeded expectations, a wonderful place to stay"
Stayed with a group including 5 young children and a granny who made use of the super comfortable annex. This holiday home was extremely clean, comfortable, spacious and so well equipped - everything had been thought of. A lovely welcome and help or advice whenever we needed it. We will definitely return.
Thanks for your positive review and I'm glad you were pleased with Gorwel, and had a great holiday. I look forward to seeing you again

"Great house! Great location!"
This is a great holiday cottage. Very well laid out with four full sized bedrooms - we were two families of 4, and easily fit in. It is stunningly well equipped with everything you might need - board … More

"All you could wish for, and more."
We stayed with our daughter & husband, together with their four children aged from 2-8 years. The accommodation and facilities are well suited to a large family, whatever the weather. The photographs on the website do not exaggerate - it really is that good.
In the garden youngsters would need to be supervised as there are unguarded stone steps, otherwise it is away from busy roads and pretty secure. The A497 passes nearby below the cottage, and though hidden, traffic noise is noticeable but not intrusive.
Location is ideal - about 50 miles from Holyhead, and close to many attractions (Greenwood Forest park is a must for under 12s!). The beach, backed by sand dunes is only a few minutes away. Shopping is available in Pwllheli just a few miles away, together with some good restaurants, though Barrie had thoughtfully provided tea, coffee and milk for our arrival plus a barra brith! There were also fresh flowers from the garden - very welcoming.
Barrie lives next door, and though never intruding, he is there for help and assistance if required.
I can see why people return here. For such a comprehensively equipped, and reasonably priced property, I would highly recommend it.
Thanks for your positive comments and am pleased you had a good holiday. I appreciate your advice regarding the unprotected steps and I will put a gate across that area to fence it off. Hope to see you again.

"I spent ages trying to find the perfect cottage - it was worth every minute"
Spent a glorious week at Gorwel. Beautiful but homely cottage where we immediately felt comfortable. Barrie and Joan provide everything you could need and some lovely extra touches. My dad, never easily impressed, thought it was the best cottage we had ever stayed in and did not want to leave.
Thanks Denise and family for you very kind words. Glad to think we have thought of everything. Hope to see you again soon with Jon walking properly this time !
