Argoed is one of the original Victorian houses built in Aberdovey, standing in secluded grounds with breathtaking views over the Dyfi estuary and out to the Irish sea.

This beautifully appointed home has been designed specifically for entertaining family and friends comfortably and has all the facilities to create spectacular and memorable celebrations, equally this large airy property lends itself to more intimate parties and is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy everything that Aberdovey and the Snowdonia National Park can offer you.

The kitchen/dining room is the main hub of the house where you will find everything thing you need to create fabulous dinner parties. Anyone not familiar with Aga cooking can refer to the Mary Berry Aga Bible for the basics, tips and inspiration. There is also a microwave, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer with an ice-maker (essential for your gin n tonic or champagne ice bucket), Nespresso coffee machine (requires pods). The dining table seats 12 people comfortably and also doubles as a great place to play family games while Dad is cooking! Alternatively there are a couple of window seats where you can look over the estuary (binoculars available too) and read or do crosswords in peace while the more hyper active can disappear into the games room to play pool or watch television. Music system and Wifi.

The sitting room has a real fire, television and if you are lucky enough to have a musician in your party then they can entertain you with Chopin or Chopsticks on the antique baby grand piano sitting in the bay of the window. You will also find a guitar.

The laundry room has washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing equipment, you will also find plenty of beach towels and cool bags for picnics. Beach bags and wind breaks are also provided in the porch.

There are plenty of classic games including a poker set, playing cards, Uno, jigsaw puzzles (including board to store away), you'll even find a burnt champagne cork for anyone who knows how to play 'Iggly Biggly' ! A set of Boules, a giant Jenga and a kite.

There are five bedrooms: The principle has a super king bed dressing room with sofa bed and en-suite with whirlpool bath.

Two further bedrooms also with super king beds and en-suite shower rooms. The fourth bedroom has a super king bed and shares the main family bathroom with the fifth bedroom which has a double bed. Four of the bedrooms have freeview televisions.

All linen and towels are provided.

The garden has a Breeze House and a selection of furniture to sunbathe and relax. A barbecue is also available.

Families with young children please be aware there is a pond in the garden! We do have a travel cot and high chair at the property.

The village and beach are just a five minute saunter down the hill, however it is a few minutes longer on the way back up, especially if you've popped into one of the pubs en route!

The drive is long and sweeps upto the side of the house where there is ample parking for at least 4/5 cars.

Smokers are welcome but could you please do it outside! House trained pets are also welcome.

Welcome packs are available, also kindling and coal by request.

Changeover is on Friday's 2pm arrival, 10am departure. We can be flexible on this where possible, please ask.

Aberdyfi (Aberdovey)

It could be argued that Aberdovey has something for everyone: 4 miles of wonderful beach set amongst the most pictureque surroundings, water sports, sailing, golfing, horse riding, the list goes on.

But it's not all action, if a more leisurely pursuit interests you an afternoon ambling along the harbours edge, browsing the eclectic shops and finishing off with afternoon tea might be more what you had in mind?

One things for sure however you like to spend your holiday time Aberdovey is hard to beat.

Thank you so much for your fabulous review! We feel we are building a lovely collection of families who hopefully will keep returning! Thank you for mentioning the butter dish as it's reminded me that I miss having a toast rack there too! I'm on the case! :-)x

"A little piece of heaven, like staying in a luxury hotel without the "faff", amazing views and a home from home"

Partly I do not want to leave this review because I want to be able to come back again and again but if everyone realises just how lovely it is will probably not be availible. Michelle the owner is a … More

What a fabulous review! Your 'gushing' has left me blushing and very happy that your family love Argoed as much as we do. We would love you all to return in the future. Thank you so much!
