The Ceredigion region

Cardigan coast is famous for its excellent beaches and coves. Some of the better known beaches are Newquay, Llangrannog, Cwmtudu, Aberporth and Tresaith. There are many coastal and countryside walks throughout Ceredigion.

The nearby town of Aberystwyth is a typical busy holiday town offering a mix of high street shopping and amusements. This University town is home to Aberystwyth Castle and the National Library. Here you will also find the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway, the longest electric railway in Britain, and the starting point of The Vale of Rheidol Railway, where you can take a trip on a narrow gauge stream train through the Rheidol valley to Devil’s Bridge. At Devil’s Bridge you can visit the famous Mynach Falls, Jacob's Ladder and the Devil's Punchbowl all of which are within walking distance of the station.

Aberaeron

Aberaeron is famous as a historic harbour town with colourful Georgian houses. It has a wealth of restaurants and tea rooms. It is also the host of the annual Welsh Cob festival, which is held in August.

Penuwch is a small farming village. It has a variety of natural wild life and is well known as the home of the Red Kite and a host of other birds. The village also offers course fishing facilities.

After a short drive to Tregaron you will find the Cors Caron nature reserve and Red Kite Centre and also the Strata Florida Abbey.

"Wonderful country cottage, with great friendly owners"

We had a wonderful week at Glangors cottage. Joy and Steve are very friendly owners and were great with the kids what come with us, taking them off to see the horses and parrots most days. The actual cottage was very nice and spacious and clean, more than enough room for the 8 of us. Loads of outside space for parking. Would definitely recommend staying here and may even try again for next year :)
