Home description
The cottage was originally a pottery attached to a typical Welsh farmhouse, and has been wholly renovated to provide a comfortable self catering holiday home set in a peaceful and beautiful location. Gors Villa is within easy distance of the beaches, forests and castles and attractive small towns of South West Wales.
The house is surrounded by it's own fields, where our sheep and ponies graze. It is well off the road and approached along a level drive. The accommodation is self contained with its own entrance from a verandah: a pleasant place to sit facing south. Red Kites and Buzzards often fly overhead and we have a large variety of birds visiting our feeders.
The cottage has 2 en suite bedrooms and sleeps 4 people. A cot or small blow up bed is available as well as a futon in the sitting room for an additional adult or child. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a generous dining area. The comfortable sitting room has Freeview TV and a free standing gas fire to supplement the central heating throughout the house. Heating is included in the rent as are bedlinen and towels.

The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Ceredigion region
The Ceredigion coastline is a designated Heritage Coast, and its beautiful sandy beaches are within easy reach. Newquay, Llangranog, Penbryn(NT), and Tresaith are all 25-40minutes away.
Boat trips from Newquay go out to see the dolphins in the bay and the grey seals on the rocks along the coast, especially at Cwmtudu which is also accessible from the land.
The coastal path has recently been opened and connects with the Pembrokeshire Coastal path at the great beach of Poppit Sands next to the Teifi estuary at Cardigan (45 minutes away).
Cardigan is a most attractive small town and home to the Theatr Mwldan which has an excellent programme of films and live shows.
The seaside town of Aberystwyth is 45 minutes up the coast to the north, with the University, the National Library of Wales, the Vale of Rheidol narrow-guage railway up to Devil's Bridge (Mynach Falls, Jacob's Ladder, and Devil's Punchbowl), the marina and numerous places to eat. Beyond it are the amazing beach and sand dunes at Borth, the ancient Welsh capital of Machynlleth near which is the fascinating Centre for Alternative Technology. And then Cader Idris and the Cambrian mountains........
Aberaeron / Felin Fach area
Aberaeron is 15 minutes away: A delightful Georgian town with its multicoloured houses and stone-walled harbour, it has a great variety of attractions: a craft centre, fresh fish for sale on the quay, an annual seafood festival, a celebration of the Welsh Cob on the green in August, numerous pubs and places to eat, including the Hive on the Quay (try their honey ice cream) and a much recommended restaurant at the Harbourmaster Inn on the quay overlooking the harbour.
The Nash house at Llanerchaeron has been beautifully restored by the National Trust together with its farmyard, walled gardens, and ornamental lake, and is barely 10 minutes away on the road to Aberaeron. A fascinating place to visit, and there is a cafe and picnic area with walks along the banks of the river Aeron
The university town of Lampeter is less than 20 minutes away with supermarkets, excellent Indian and Chinese restaurants and one of the best fish and chip shops in Wales!
Half an hour to the south of us is the Brechfa forest with wonderful walking, cycle trails and riding.
There are spectacular castles an hour or so away in several directions, most particularly Careg Cenen just beyond Llandeillo.
You will not be disappointed in the magnificent National Botanical Garden of Wales near the A48 east of Carmarthen. Aberglasney House in process of restoration is just off the A40 west of Llandeillo and has a beautiful garden designed by the well known garden designer Penelope Hobhouse. It also has a very nice cafe.
How to get there
Take the M4/A48 to Carmarthen, round by-pass and on to A485 to Lampeter.
In Lampeter take A482 towards Aberaeron.
Travel some 7miles to Ystrad Aeron and turn left up B4342 for 2miles to Dihewyd.
Take the first left unmarked road on leaving the village: we are the third house on the right after about 1mile
