Croeso is situated just 2 miles from the Llanerchaeron Estate, venue of the Urdd National Eisteddfod being held in June 2010 - but do book early to avoid disappointment.

The accommodation is tastefully furnished to a high standard and comprises 2 double bedrooms sleeping 4 people. Croeso also has the additional benefit of a sofa bed, giving scope for additional guests.

All bed linen and towels are provided and electricity is also included.

The cottage has comfortable lounge seating in the conservatory which overlooks open meadow and woodland, making a lovely place to relax.

There is a dining area adjoining the living space which leads into the fully equipped kitchen.
The bathroom has bath with shower, and fully programmable heating is installed throughout the cottage at no additional cost.

The bedrooms comprise one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, both with adequate wardrobe and drawer space.

Outside the cottage there is a large decked area with patio furniture, looking out across the valley.
Here you will see Buzzards and Red Kites soaring above the grounds.

Around the well maintained grounds you will find many mature specimen trees, including oak, elder and copper beech, with swathes of rhododendron and honeysuckle.

There is pedestrian access from the site leading to the Tyglyn Hotel which lies just a few metres away, so forget about taking the car. Here guests can take advantage of the pleasant bar area and restaurant; the food comes highly recommended!

The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Ceredigion region

Ciliau Aeron lies within the Aeron Valley in Ceredigion, an area of outstanding natural beauty, sheltered from the east by the Plynlimon mountain range.

Ceredigion has much to offer with plenty of leisure pursuits and sporting activities in the area, including walking, cycling, fishing, golf, riding and watersports.

The Ceredigion coastline is designated Heritage Coast and is considered particularly scenic, in particular Mwnt, Lochtyn, Cwmtydu and Penbryn, which are cared for by the National Trust.

Tresaith also scores highly and is well worth a visit to witness the River Saith cascading over the cliff tops and onto the beach. Before leaving Tresaith pop into the Ship Inn where you can sample some fine food and take in the wonderful sea view!

Fans of sailing and water sports are regularly attracted to Ceredigion’s welcoming beaches and harbours, Y Lanfa - Aberystwyth’s marina; historic stone-walled Aberaeron; Cardigan with its broad estuary waters, and New Quay’s fine sweeping bay.

Cardigan Bay is home to bottlenose dolphins, porpoises, Atlantic grey seals and a wide variety of birds, flora and fauna. Red Kites soar above, along with choughs, peregrine falcons, gannets and puffins.

Ceredigion offers a variety of walks, from gentle seaside strolls to Heritage Coast walks and rugged mountain hikes. The County features many town trails and way-marked paths including forest and countryside.
Both pony trekking and cycling are excellent ways to enjoy the spectacular scenery, with several riding stables in the area. Cycling is also well catered for with coast, countryside and mountains to explore. Off road cycling is also available, if mountain biking is your sport you will find mountain-bike trails at the Nant Yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre near Ponterwyd.

If its art and culture you seek, Ceredigion is home to the two oldest universities in Wales, it also houses the National Library of Wales.

Cardigan’s culture includes a thriving visual and performing arts scene, regular arts and craft exhibitions and an annual European Film Festival at Theatr Mwldan.

Local hotels, restaurants, and country pubs in the area produce a wealth of organic and natural products for you to sample. Local menus regularly feature delicious Welsh lamb and beef, and freshly caught fish such as trout, Cardigan Bay lobsters, and sewin (a delicate sea trout very much like salmon). You will also find a wealth of healthy vegetarian alternatives at many establishments.

Aberaeron / Ciliau Aeron area

Ciliau Aeron nestles in the Aeron Valley and lies a short distance from the Georgian coastal town of Aberaeron, this year celebrating its BiCentenary, and making a good starting point for exploring Cardigan Bay’s breathtaking coastline.

Local attraction, and just a short walk from the cottage, is the secret garden of TyGlyn Aeron - well worth a visit. The recently restored Llanerchaeron Estate is situated just a short distance away and makes for a great day out. The Mansion house at Llanerchaeron was built by the great architect John Nash and has been sympathetically restored by the National Trust over the past ten years or so.

It was thought so important a survival of the period, that it was accepted without endowment, relying on the efforts of the local community to raise a substantial proportion of restoration fund. The grounds are a lovely place to picnic in the summer to the sound of a string quartet.

If planning a visit to New Quay, literature lovers can follow the Dylan Thomas Trail. Wales’ foremost bard lived in New Quay and wrote ‘Quite Early One Morning’ here. Prepare to be inspired!

You may also get a glimpse of marine wildlife in the bay, if you are in luck you may catch sight of dolphins and porpoises playing in the waves offshore, or further inland rabbits, foxes, badgers, buzzards, and Red Kites.
