Peace and quiet surrounded by lovely countryside. This spacious house while it has the country cottage feel to it , it is a new bungalow full of light and comfort. The four bedrooms are large, the main bedroom is en suite. There are two other bathrooms in the house. Fully equipped modern kitchen with a large dining area and living area with old-fashioned stove. There is a utility room off the kitchen. A light and airy sitting room with a beautiful fireplace, just the place to watch tv in the evening. For warm sunny evenngs, enjoy the patio area at the back for a barbeque, this is a very private area to take full advantage of the countryside. There is ample parking in the front for up to six cars. Oilfired central heating throughout. Each room is fully furnished, bed linen and towels are provided.

The Offaly/County Laois region
Glenbrook is situated in County Laois. The main town is Portlaoise which has a population of about 13,000 people. Laois is a very good farming county with rich grasslands for cattle rearing and dairy farming. It is also suitalbe for tillage. It also has has extensive bog lands which are commercially harvested. It has extensive woodlands. The Slieve Bloom Mountains are a major attraction for scenery, walks and peace and quiet. Laois has many heritage trails and the tourist office in Portlaoise provides maps, guidebooks and a history of the area. Emo Court is one of the main attractions, its period house which is open to the public and its gardens, lake and walks must not be missed. The Rock of Dunamaise is a famous land mark in Laois, it was the seat of power of the old Gaelic clan, the O'Moores, the ruling clan of Laois. The Gaelic tradition is very strong in Laois, ceili dancing, Gaelic games and traditional festivals are a common feature in the summer months.

Abbeyleix / Ballyroan area
There are many beautiful gardens and walks in the area. Emo Court is about 10km from Ballyroan. The Heywood gardens are about 5kms and the Abbeyleix gardens. There is a Famine Workhouse in Donoughmore about 15km, Aghaboe Abbey is a medieval monastery about 10km. A Fly Fishing Musuem is about 10km, a Steam Engine Musuem is about 5km, an Agricultural Musuem is about 15 km, the Mountmellick Lace Musuem is about 12km. The Annual Steam Festivals are held locally in Ballyroan, Ballinakill and in Stradbally throughout the summer months. There is a very large rock concert held annually in September about 7km, this is the Electric Picnic. There are numerous locations for game and course fishing locally. Fishing tackle, bait and permits are obtainable locally.
This house is situated at the edge of a small village Ballyroan. There are three pubs in the village and a minimarket. It is tree kms from Abbeyleix, a heritage town which has a number of good bars and restaurants as well as a hotel,a musuem and an 18 hole golf course. It is 10km from Portlaoise town which has a cinema, theatre, hotels, bars restaurants, bowling, town park, kiddies' park, shopping centres, railway station, etc. About 5km from Ballyroan, there is fishing on the River Nore, horseriding, and paintball as well as historical sites. Kilkenny city is about 20km and Carlow is also about 20 km. There are numerous 18 hole golf courses.
