The Galicia region

All green Galicia has beautiful natural landscapes as well as emblematic cities like Santiago, a monumental city with its cathedral; Coruña, Lugo with its Roman walls and where eating is art; Ferrol with its Naval Museum,

San Andres de Teixido, which has the highest cliffs in Europe where you will come across wild horses; eat excellent seafood in Cedeira; Visit Ortigeira with its wonderful beaches, rivers and pure nature in shades of green, and finally, visit the famous beach of the Cathedrals.

You won't have time to get bored.

The climate of the region is rainy in autumn while winter has mild temperatures.

In summer the average temperature is around 22 º. Lately the spring and fall are warmer and dry.

A Coruna

This coastline of the Rias Altas, still largely untapped by tourists, is plenty of beautiful beaches. It is a privileged place to enjoy the sea and nature.

The nearest village is Pontedeume, a small charming fishing village, which offers all services. It has a market with local home-grown products and fresh fish in the area, supermarkets, bars and restaurants.

Every Saturday there is a local flea market.

The wonderful Fragas del Eume National Park with its great river and hiking tours, fishing areas and canoeing, will make you fully enjoy nature.

There are calm water beaches, sea inlet, usually more demanded, like Cabanas, within 1,700 Km distance from the house along the Camino de Santiago (called English), that is, within 20 minutes walking or 3 minutes driving. Other beaches nearby are Seselle or Ares, and there are also endless coves and villages around.

All beaches are relatively close. Those of Ferrol are about 15 km away, they are open to the Atlantic Ocean, and are somehow lonely, very beautiful and braver too. Cobas is 17Km away, Santa Comba 20Km, Doniños 22Km, Valdoviño 29Km and there are many more! In some of these beaches Surf and other sports are practiced, and there are schools with courses and equipment is available.

Taking the boat on the dock of Ferrol is highly recommended to go to the fishing village of Mugardos to taste an excellent Octopus Mugardesa
