The Algarve region
For the children are the aquatic parks nearby plus the Zoomarine. In the evening or during the day take the little road train to the marina and beach or walk the 15 minutes down to the yachting marina with its restaurants and cafes serving a variety of seafoods, fresh sardines being the speciality, plus exotic icecreams and just sit and watch the world go by.
Sandy beaches are within walking distance or again take the road train, which stops at the Old Village and deposits you near the beaches.
There are many shops, restaurants and banks in the area for your holiday convenience. Also the gypsy markets in Quarteira and Loule where you can excercise your bargaining power to find that special purchase.
Vilamoura / Villamoura Old Village area
The Old Village is an unusual private development nestling within the Pinhal Golf Course Vilamoura. It was modeled on the famous development of Port Marian in Wales, which was made famous by the television program "The Prisoner".
The Old Village is just 10 minutes walk to the centre of Vilamoura, and 20 minutes to the nearest beach. From Vilamoura you can travel by bus to anywhere in the Algarve, and the taxi service around Vilamoura and Quarteira is very reasonable priced.
The Old Village is safe and tranquil as no traffic is allowed on the streets, it has 2 swimming pools for the use of the guests only. Within the Old Village there is 1 Restaurant. Within the cobbled streets of the village are also 2 bars, coffee shop, supermarket. There is ample car parking on the outskirts of the village for the visitors wishing to hire cars.
The reception for our apartment is located in Church Square which is central to all the village. It has facilities for all the needs of the modern traveler, e-mail, fax, phone etc.
