Home description
Despite just 35 minutes drive from Nice International airport, Le Foulon could be a million miles from anywhere. Overlooking the Valley of the Wolf, peace and tranquility come as standard. Nearby are numerous medieval villages, where Provencal life has ticked by for centuries unchanged. And yet the French Riviera, from Cannes to Monaco, and even across the border into Italy, are easily explored from here.
The estate is dedicated to making your holiday as memorable as possible. From the largest, most comfortable beds draped in the softest Egyptian cotton, to super-powerful showers and large antique roll-top baths, we started with getting the very basics right and then applied the same attention to detail to everything else. Le Foulon has all the comforts of home, including a warm and friendly atmosphere and outside of the summer months it is run as a luxurious guesthouse. It is much larger, inside and out, than many villas that cater for a similar number of guests.
The wooden decked swimming pool terrace looks out across our land.
Take our catered option and enjoy a cocktail or two.
The perfect spot for a post-dinner digestif.
There's plenty of space to loose yourself in our garden.

CULTURE, NATURE & A FINE LUNCH
One of the main reasons we chose this part of Europe to create our dream holiday property (apart from the fantastic climate, stunning scenery and ease of getting here!) is the endless variety of places to visit. Whatever turns you on, this part of Provence has something to offer.
There is far too much to list here, but I've attempted to on our own web site, which we're adding to all the time.
Greolieres area
If you're looking for a piece of traditional Provence, where the locals spend the afternoons on the village Boules pitch, and where little has changed for centuries, then take your pick. Our village of Greolieres has less than 500 inhabitants, just 4 restaurants, a tabac and a boulangerie. It's a sweet place to stroll about.
If you're looking actions sports or lazy pursuits then you've found the right place. From throwing yourself down rapids, to taking in a museum or two before lunch, skiing to golf, para-gliding to a lazy stroll through a wooded path to our nearest village, there is simply too much to do in this area to give justice to. Oh, and it's especially difficult to drag yourself away from the swimming pool and a good book.
Getting to Le Foulon couldn't be easier, and is one of the reasons we chose this area. Nice International airport is less than 45 minutes drive. It's the second largest airport in France, incredibly well connected and very civilised. Less than 2 hours flying time from most UK airports means you can finish work on a Friday and be having a glass of fine wine and a late supper that very evening. Served by 8 airlines from no less than 14 UK airports there's a low cost flight near you.

Further details indoors: You arrive at Le Foulon in a large courtyard, shaded by a 150 year old Horse Chestnut tree, to the sound of a spring fed fountain. The front door leads directly to a double height lounge and your very own bar, with two leather corner sofas and a huge stone arch into the Ingle Nook room and the giant fireplace that brings life to the Winter months. To the right is a long dining room, glazed on two sides to make the most of the far reaching panorama.
The dining room leads onto a large balcony, over looking the land, the barbecue terrace and the swimming pool beyond.
Two of the en suite bedrooms are on this level, which is actually the second floor, and are ideal if you're less mobile. Three more en suite rooms are upstairs, on the third floor, two of which have mezzanine sleeping levels reached by cast spiral staircases. The first & ground floors have two en-suite bedrooms each with double beds that can be separated into twin beds making the total number of beds 18. All rooms have superb high pressure showers (one of them is built for two people) six also have baths, three of which are antique roll-top baths. They have Superking sized beds, the very best mattresses and fine Egyptian cotton - sleeping well at Le Foulon is standard.
If you must work or stay connected with the World there is a free wi-fi network that can be picked up in most rooms and around the building, including by the pool (lap-top dependent).
Further details outdoors: The Domaine du Foulon comprises of 16 acres and two rivers. You won't be bothered by neighbours, and if you want to find a quiet little spot to yourself then take your pick. The weather here is as good as the coast, except it's a little cooler in the evenings - which makes for the perfect sleeping temperature and no mosquitos.
The 11 metre swimming pool is heated in the Spring and Autumn and like the rest of Le Foulon has relaxing views across forest and hillside. If you're up with the sun you'll often spot deer around the garden.
With no light pollution the nights here are crystal clear, and spotting shooting stars is the norm rather than the exception.
There is a free tennis court in our village of Greolieres, plenty of mountain walks, often with a good restaurant at the end of them, and a host of sporting activities on our doorstep. Please see our own web site for an extensive list of what's available.
