“Almost perfect!” Romeo and Simona are the most wonderful hosts! Their communication prior to, and during, our stay was fantastic. Romeo met us promptly at the station and drove us to the apartment, even though it was really close. He showed us the local area and advised us on the apartment's amenities, even giving us edible gifts. He and Simona were so welcoming throughout the duration of our stay, encouraging us to make use of their lovely garden whenever we liked. The road the apartment is on seems quite private, with beautiful houses, and is very quiet. The train station is a ten-minute walk, maximum, together with the small supermarket at the end of the street. The only issue we had with the apartment was the temperature. Unfortunately, it was very hot and although there was a large fan, it was still too stuffy to really spend time in (at this time of year, anyway)! Simona and Romeo mentioned they might consider air conditioning in future, and I would definitely recommend they do so. That way, the apartment would be pretty much perfect. Mogliano Veneto is a 20-minute train journey into Venice, and the train is cheap, with pleasant views across the sea. Nonetheless, having a curfew (the last train back left at about 23:04 I believe) did not always allow for true relaxation in Venice itself. If you fancy a quiet retreat and an opportunity to explore more of Italy while seeing Venice, this is a beautiful spot and you couldn't have better hosts than Simona and Romeo.
