Normandy offers a gorgeous and varied countryside, referred to as le bocage, and a mild climate, a little warmer than that of the south of England. There is a lot to see in the region, from the historic Bayeux Tapestry and the D-day beaches to Monet’s garden at Giverny and Mont St Michel. The ancient city of Rouen is a must, as is the museum for peace in Caen, a town which has been rebuilt after its destruction in the Second World War. The area offers many golf courses and for the children Festyland near Caen hosts over 30 attractions.
