“Lovely homely house from which to explore west and north Clare” Modern but characterful house, spacious, lots of natural light, great views to both Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. If you're looking for a peaceful break to recharge your batteries, Gorse Cottage fits the bill. Two or three pubs close by in Doolin with good food and music as well. Get one of the local guides (we recommend Mary Howard) to show you and explain the Burren. If you're a cyclist, do the coast road to Fanore and Ballyvaughan, it's a lovely ride.

“Warm, peaceful and serene” On arrival at the cottage we were taken back by the prettiness and character. A lot of thought has been put into this beautiful home and a lot of attention to detail, every day found something new. It was clean, comfortable, spacious and cosy with the log burner in the evenings. Stunning views of Croagh Patrick and the lake from the cottage. For a true taste of Ireland and beautiful scenery I would highly recommend. Fishing boats are available for hire on the lake a short distance away. The cottage is located roughly 6 miles from Westport, which is a great town and had everything we required. We will be back again Ann. Thank you for providing a clean, comfortable haven.

“Quaint and Quirky” Beautiful cottage surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The property was clean and had everything you could need and more. Sleeps 6 comfortably (Very comfy duvets)! Didn't use the conservatory but did use the games and rackets for outside. Plenty of garden space for outdoor play. Owner was very helpful and communication was excellent. If your looking for a peaceful break surrounded by natural beauty this is the place to go.

“Peaceful and relaxing” We had a fabulous stay here. Beautiful views especially at night when sitting round the fire. Our children loved rock climbing and playing cricket on the beach. Inch Pier is only a few minutes walk away. Will definitely be back! The Fitzpatricks

“A wondrous Holiday!” I miss Knockatinna already, having spent a lovely two weeks in its embrace! It's truly in the country, but only a five minute drive from a delightful village (Glenbeigh - with several wonderful pubs, including the Olde Glenbeigh, with origins dating back to the late 1700's). The house was truly outfitted for "self-catering", with all kitchen accoutrements on hand. Linens, towels, etc., were amply furnished. The house is well heated, but for chill evenings, two fireplaces add to the charm of the place. From Knockatinna we toured the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Penninsula (greeting Fungie, the friendly Dolphin in Dingle Bay), Blarney Castle, Cashel of the Kings and Cork City as well as Bunratty, Durty Nellie's and the unbelievable Cliffs of Moher. We enjoyed spectacular beaches, the Bog Museum, classic Irish farms and pastures, pristine lakes, and of course, embracing Irish hospitality served up by John and Kathleen O'Shea and their fabulous daughter, Laura. All made for a wondrous holiday which we would love to repeat as soon as possible.

“Mrs” Just spent a wonderful weekend in McEvoys self catering in Kilnaleck Cavan. We were a party of 6 adults and a 2yr old. Everybody was catered for. Excellent facilities. We had great fun in the games room. Would highly recommend this property.

“Sun, sand, seashells and a very cozy cottage - pure recreation!” We very much enjoyed our stay at The Dunes. The hosts thought of everything a family might need or enjoy during their holidays. From postcards to dvds for children, from electric heaters to knitting books, from a radio to a fully equipped kitchen, from a maritime bathroom to toilet paper - we didn´t miss a thing.

“HEAVEN” Absolutely brilliant location and bungalow. Totally ideal and very well kitted out. We can not find anything to fault Gort na Cuile. We all had a ball and enjoyed the nearby Malin Head, Five fingers strand and the Seaview Tavern. We especially enjoyed the daily drive to and from Ballyliffin via Malin as we were working at the Irish Open golf. Would definitely intend returning.

“A brilliant week in a lovely house in a beautiful location.” The views from the front of the house out over the Atlantic and the wee islands there will live in the memory. The house itself has everything you could wish for, lots of space and light, quiet corners - and all the practicalities well sorted too - good showers for instance, and an impressive cooker! Apart from the natural beauty round about (the shoreline walk from the house is magic) we found good shops, pubs and cafes all within a few minutes drive. I can't fault it and heard no complaints from any of the gang that was there for the week. Thanks very much to the owners! Cheers, Bob.

“Beautiful House, Loads of Space for Kiddies, Beautiful Surroundings” Stephen Quinn the owner was very helpful with advice and gave a very detailed welcome pack recommending loads of activities, bars, restaurants etc around the area. The house itself is beautiful and the views from the house were stunning! Every room was at a very high standard including the ensuites and the kitchen/dining area had everything we needed. The BBQ which is supplied was great for sunny days and the open fire in the main living room was great for cosy nights in. The house is very spacious which was great as we had 6 adults, two 3 years olds and an 18 months old and were very comfortable. Stephen also provided us with a cot, high chair and 2 stair gates for my baby. This made us feel more at ease knowing the kids were safe and the baby had what was needed for eating/sleeping and also saved us having to bring it all down in our car. The bunk beds were great for the other 2 kids! They had great fun running around playing both inside and outside the house. The garden is hugh with a seating area to look over the views. When visiting the local town the people are all very pleasant and there are a lot of places to eat out and and nice bars with entertainment at evenings. We needed a doctor for one of our party and they were very helpful and are only 5 minutes away. Everything else is also approx 5 minutes drive away which is great. I have already recommended this house to others and am planning another trip back already! Thank you very much Stephen, we will see you again in the ea future for another wee holiday!

“Magical” My husband and I have stayed in ivy cottage,its very comfortable and cosy especally with the open fireplace plenty of room for holiday cottage and all essential's catered for and lots of pease and quite. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas golf only 9km in Templemore,fishing and plenty of walks and sightseeing,but just to sit in the picknic area and look across to the fields and mountains is really breathtaking,plus walking around pet farm. Our host Mr M Odonnell is most welcomning making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your holiday to the full.

“A home away from home.” This house is in immaculate condition. The owner obviously uses the house a lot herself, as it is very comfortable and well furnished. The kitchen has everything you need and more. Two very good quality TV's, dvd, satellite. Bedrooms and linen up to hotel standards. All the rooms are of good proportions. Luisbourgh is a nice little town. It is in a perfect location for exploring the region. Very close to good surfing beaches (5 miles) also two other safe beaches within 1 mile of the house. If travelling with teenagers be sure to bring enough to occupy them, as there is no scene locally.

“Everything we needed” On arrival we were pleasantly surprised with home made muffins and local jam and apple juice. The cottage had everything we could possibly need. It really was a home away from home. We were all very warm and comfortable. Location was a bit out of the way but we wanted to be out of the usual tourist areas. “Home sweet home” We felt like Lugdine was more like a home than a holiday rental. Carpeting in the living room, hallway and master bedroom which was nice on the tootsies. Light and airy inside; a nice fireplace to burn turf in; comfortable furniture in the living room; nice tables outside to enjoy the countryside.....it was wonderful. We aren't rookies at renting holiday houses and this one was 10 out of 10 for us. One pays for electrical usage and the oil for the heating (if you need it). We turned on the heating just to get the chill off and then we were fine with using the portable heaters IF we needed to. Wi-fi is pay as you go and if staying longer than a week, we would recommend going for the month rate just to be on the same side. There was never a problem with the wi-fi. Sean, the owner, was such a wonderful host and person. Made sure we knew about all the necessary points regarding the electrical, heating, wi-fi, and if we had enough wood and turf for our use. One can tell Lugdine is a labor of love for Sean and rightly so. Kitchen is stocked well with pans, plates, glasses and utensils. There is a dishwasher and clothes washer for use. There is a clothesline for hanging freshly washed clothes and a drying rack too. One unbelievable bonus for us was the Irish deer stag who showed up in the yard twice in the two weeks we were there. Cannot recommend Lugdine enough.

“The perfect location for exploring SW Ireland” The cottage was as charming as it looks in the pictures. The view from the dining table never got old. The Duyn's were wonderful hosts; making sure we were familiar with the appliances and fireplace, keeping us stocked with firewood and baked goods, and offering advice on the many restaurants/pubs in in town.
