Activities

A former hippy retreat, Ibiza became famous for its wild clubs and second-to-none music scene. The nearest island to the mainland, Ibiza has exquisite coves and beaches, most of which are all but deserted even during the summer. Inland the landscape is hilly, with exclusive holiday homes and tiny hamlets dotted around the thickly wooded terrain. Ibiza Town is home to the Island’s most famous clubs, it also has great boutiques and stalls in the port area, which remain open until late at night. The best beaches are Ses Salines and Es Cavellet. Away from the buzz of the bars and clubs, Ibiza Town has a beautiful and peaceful Old Town to be explored, with fine restaurants and great views of the town from the top of the walls. The town has the remains of the Carthaginian culture that dominated the island for centuries, with the Museu d’Arqueològic explaining much of its rich history. San Antonio is the island’s second town, a lively resort with a ‘sunset strip’ of bars and clubs that are open all through the night. The town has lately relaxed its party reputation for a more laid-back atmosphere. Santa Eulària des Riu is a family destination, with plenty of its original character. The pretty 16th Century Church and Folk Museum are some of the attractions to be enjoyed in this quiet spot.
