Holiday cottages (23259)

Get away from it all and enjoy the luscious scenery of a secluded countryside setting by booking one of these fabulous cosy holiday cottages. Choose from country cottages in England, tranquil gites in France and cottages in Wales with log fires and breathtaking views.

You may prefer to visit the splendid country of Ireland and stay in a traditional Irish cottage - enjoying long leisurely walks before soaking up the Celtic atmosphere in great local pubs. Alternatively, choose a Scottish lodge by a loch or in the mountains and relax as you marvel at the beauty of the great outdoors.

For the more adventurous, look further afield and enjoy the serenity of a country cottage in a hidden overseas location. Pick somewhere in a peaceful forest or mountain setting and enjoy long walks or energetic bike rides.

Finding a quiet place in the country doesn’t have to mean going back to basics. You can have all the comforts of home with a little extra luxury when you book a cottage with a hot tub. Old stone shepherd’s huts with private tubs for two, converted barns with ten-person steam baths or full-size farmhouses with heated swimming pools—choosing is half the adventure!

Romantic cottages with hot tubs tend to be on the cosy side: thatched hideaways with bubbling pools best enjoyed by candlelight. They never lack for character. Shropshire follies come adorned with period features in addition to the hot tubs, while in the Welsh hills you can admire stunning views without leaving the Jacuzzi.

If your animal companion needs a holiday too, there’s good news: being largely rural, cottages with hot tubs are often pet-friendly. Barns and converted milking sheds promise ample room for guests and their four-legged friends, although it might be best to keep the latter out of the hot tub.

Attached to holiday cottages in Scotland, hot tubs come into their own. You can enjoy a stone holiday home with a Jacuzzi to keep you toasty as far north as the Hebrides. If that thought has you shivering, though, you’ll find plenty of hot tubs further south, from the Cairngorms to the Borders.

For a proper soak, however, consider a cottage with a pool. They probably cost less than you think, even when heated (and if you plan to relax, you’ll want it heated). What better way to pass a holiday than at a sleepy farmhouse, complete with warm indoor pool and a hot tub on the decking?

Roaring fires, period features, bags of character and chocolate-box charm… there are so many reasons to book a cottage rental and so many different kinds to choose from! Whether you’re looking for picturesque coastal holiday cottages to rent or want to take your pick from luxury holiday cottages, you’ll have no problem finding a beautiful bolthole on Holiday Lettings.

If getting some fresh air and exploring the countryside sounds like your cup of tea, you’re in luck. Escape for an exhilarating break with the whole family and, as there are plenty of pet-friendly holiday cottages to choose from, your four-legged friends can go, too. If you’re in need of some well-earned rest, our holiday cottages with pools will leave you feeling refreshed and revived in no time.

Cornwall

From popular attractions like the Eden Project and St Michael’s Mount to the peaceful fishing villages of Mousehole and Newlyn, Cornwall’s seaside charm won’t fail to keep you coming back year after year. If you’re looking for a romantic break for two or somewhere to host a big family celebration, our fantastic selection of Cornwall holiday cottages will suit all tastes and budgets.

Devon

When it comes to holiday cottages, Devon’s offering is as rich as a jam and clotted-cream scone! Choose a tasty little retreat overlooking the beach in Salcombe, or maybe a tempting family-sized cottage in the heart of Totnes. Whatever kind of cottage you’re looking for, you’ll find hundreds of homes dotted all over Devon, from Plymouth to Ilfracombe.

Dorset

With its unspoilt countryside and sweeping sandy beaches, it’s no surprise that Dorset is a firm holiday favourite. Dorset holiday cottages have something for everyone: families could opt for a spacious rental in Purbeck to explore the fascinating Corfe Castle, while couples might like the idea of a cosy cottage in Dorchester near the beautiful Athelhampton House and Gardens. The choice is vast, so picking your perfect place will be a breeze.

The Cotswolds

Cottages in the Cotswolds are every bit as idyllic as you’d expect them to be; honey-coloured stone, woodburners, beams and flower-filled gardens are the order of the day. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is stunning at any time of the year. In winter, snuggle up and watch the snow fall at a cottage in Hook Norton. And in summer, pack a picnic and head for the hills before relaxing at a cottage in Stanton.

Norfolk

From the rivers of the Norfolk Broads to the charming market towns of the Waveney Valley, this stunning county is an outdoor playground just waiting to be explored. Watch seals on a boat trip, hire a bike and cycle through Breckland, or simply sit back and smell the sea air at one of Norfolk’s many beautiful beaches. With so many holiday cottages in Norfolk, what you do and where you stay are completely up to you.

Northumberland

This scenic county is home to the Northumberland National Park: 400 square miles of breathtaking natural beauty, stretching from Hadrian’s Wall to the Scottish Borders. Holiday cottages in Northumberland reflect the beauty of the landscape, so you’re in for a treat when booking a rental in this awe-inspiring county. Choose from cosy cottages out in the sticks to spacious family homes in the centre of town.

The New Forest

Holiday cottages in the New Forest range from sweet studios for one or two, to sprawling family homes where teenagers and toddlers have plenty of room to roam. The woodland is abundant with wildlife so it’s the place to go if you’ve got a budding David Attenborough on your hands! There are so many things to do in the New Forest, from museums to theme parks, so there’s never a dull moment.

Yorkshire

If the landscape of the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales wasn’t enough, this inspiring county has a history that will leave you yearning to know more. Experience what life was like for the Vikings in York, visit the home of the Brontë sisters in Haworth or ride an old fashioned steam train through heath-covered hills. Holiday cottages in Yorkshire have something to offer everyone – all you need to do is pick your favourite!

Suffolk

For a fantastic selection of holiday cottages, Suffolk ticks all the boxes… and then some! Stay in a picturesque village by the sea in a cottage made for two. Or pack up the family for a few weeks of fun at a cottage in Bury St Edmunds where you’ll find plenty to see and do. And if you love a day out at the races, book a charming cottage in Newmarket.

River Cottage
Family holiday and pet friendly

Ideally located 4 miles from Scarborough just off A170, 30-40 minutes drive to either Whitby, Filey, Bridlington and York an hour away. River Cottage is situated in its own grounds with an electric gate at the entrance, (provided with 2 remotes) plenty of parking spaces available. The River Derwent runs along the side of its grounds which our dog and teenagers loved to play in (about 2ft deep). Tried fishing too, no permit needed and rod available in the cottage for your use. Andrew and Tracy the owners live next door and provided some milk, tea, coffee and sugar on our arrival. Always available and very approachable. The amenities were ample, washer/dryer, which we used regularly, no washing to come home too, which was a bonus. DVD and CD player, good Wifi (kids loved), log burner, heating if needed,TV in every bedroom. Down stairs twin/king size bedroom which my parents used, as my dad has Parkinson's and not able to use stairs very well. Along with a wet room next door to the bedroom, which was ideal. Upstairs were 3 large bedrooms, family bathroom and the master bedroom with ensuite. Bright and airy, plenty of space for your clothes, clean and tidy with modern features and facilities. Would certainly recommend River Cottage, hopefully plan to return next year. Dexter says woof Andrew. Thankyou both for a beautiful Cottage to have our holiday in. Last but not least, totally recommend The Three Jolly Sailors pub in Burneside for food which allows dogs in. (15min drive away) and the spar and fish and chip shop 10 min walk along bridle path from the Cottage.see more
Rosary Cottage
Very comfortable, with perfect location

From first contact with the owner, until the moment we left, Rosary Cottage has been an absolute pleasure. Communication before our visit was excellent, with clear instructions and helpful suggestions. On arrival, we found a large cottage with three bedrooms (all en-suite), two sitting rooms and a big kitchen. Spotlessly clean, the cottage was VERY well equipped with TV/DVD player, iPod dock and every pan/utensil in the kitchen you could hope for. The location is stunning - right in the centre of town, only steps away from all the attractions. With a One-Stop and boulangerie directly opposite and the excellent "Willows" restaurant next door, you couldn't ask for better. So, if you're considering Chipping Campden (the prettiest town in the Cotswolds), head straight for Rosary Cottage and enjoy your stay.see more
Avon Vale , New Forest Self Catering Cottage for 2
A great little hideaway for a romantic weekend with easy access to walking in the forest

The cottage is in a beautiful village, where New Forest ponies gather on the green every morning and visit the lane where the cottage is situated. The cottage itself is ideally placed for walks in all directions. It is very well equipped and cosy with the wood burner. The owner is very friendly and nothing is too much for her. We arrived a little early, which was no problem, and both ourselves and our dog were made very welcome. Especially of note are the home made peanut cookies provided as a welcome! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a place to stay and would love to return.see more
