“Perfect and tranquil.” This house lived up to the fantastic photos and more. We have friends on the island so knew our way around but wanted to experience some winter isolation with other family members new to the island. It broke all expectations in a fantastic way. The open plan living is fantastic for watching wildlife and the weather and we spent hours doing it. If you love wildlife and peace and tranquility then this is the place for you. Just glorious.

“Fabulous Holiday” Just home after a wonderful holiday in Fisherman’s Cottage. Alasdair and Irene welcomed us to their lovely cottage which is well situated for touring Harris and Lewis. The bowlful of muscles and a bottle of wine were a lovely touch. The cottage was spotless with views over the Loch to Seaforth Island. The kitchen had everything we needed, all appliances were new and in good working order. Our weather was exceptional but there was a log burner and central heating if we had needed it. We would stay in this cottage again, hopefully next year.

“Comfortable and well located” Comfortable accommodation with an attractive lochside view. We used it as a base for touring Harris. The accommodation had everything we required and benefits from being located adjacent to a licensed grocery, so no need to head into Tarbet for food and wine. Would recommend.

“The ard, a home from home.” We came to the Isle of Lewis as it was an area of Scotland as yet unexplored. Knowing the unpredictability of the weather we wanted a comfortable and warm place to stay. In the ard we found what we wanted, an ideal place to stay for an autumnal holiday break. On arrival there were delicious homemade scones which were devoured with relish and a most beautiful bunch of flowers. Norma gave us warm welcome and on walking through the front door the warmth of the home embraced us and we settled in immediately. The most comfortable place I've stayed with wonderful views and everything within easy access. We had the use of bikes and fishing rods and when the weather permitted we made the most of them. Fishing near the Norse mill at the inlet seemed too easy as the mackeral were leaping out of the water! On cycling back from Bosta beach we followed a golden eagle, a truly magnificent sight which crowned our magical visit to Bosta. We had many more wonderful days exploring Bernera and Lewis/Harris, a week wasn't long enough. The ard had a lovely log burning stove which we were looking forward to lighting but as the house was so warm and comfortable the opportunity didn't arise. Needless to say we had a wonderful holiday but having seen only part of the island we will have to return and explore the rest, returning the to the ard as its the only place for us to stay.

“Don’t hesitate, you’ll love it.” Lovely house in a beautiful setting. We dragged ourselves away from this one. View of loch is magical. Sightings everyday of porpoise, seals, terns, otters, etc. We swam in the clear waters of the loch everyday. The house is great, all nicely done, comfy and homely.

“Fantastic holiday” Myself and my family (6 adults) stayed in the lodge for a long weekend in september. We all loved it. The lodge catered for all our needs and the game room helped provide entertainment when we came back from our activities around Skye. Its in a great location with a mass amount of walks near by and portree is only a short distance away for a good pint. The views from the livingroom and master bedroom are amazing and the cuddle chair makes for a romantic night watching the stars and water. We will all be coming back for a holiday next year!

“Very clean, well equipped central location” Only 15 minutes from Stornaway, easy access to all of the tourist “must see” places of interest and beauty. Less than an hour from Harris. and about 40 minutes from Uig, would really recommend booking a table at the Uig Sands restaurant, best do this ahead of travelling to ensure you get a table, the food is excellent, and the drive there is stunning with fantastic beaches. The Crowne Hotel in Stornaway is a good place to eat and the Ossian beer is good pint. Really enjoyed the trip and will be back next year to shoot with RJH sporting, Russell is a great guy and can arrange most of your sporting needs for you

“Covid restrictions stopped planned visit - handled well by expert host” Booked this wonderful cottage before the Covid 19 lockdown. Unfortunately our stay would have been during the Government restricted lockdown period. Anne the host was marvellous she replied immediately to my query and a full refund was given within the hour. Can't wait to re book and visit in 2021 (fingers crossed), more so now knowing with confidence that the host responds quickly to any problems that may arise. Accomodation is reasonably priced and looks wonderful.

“Peace and quiet coupled with creature comforts in a glorious spot.” Lovely cottage, very well appointed, warm and comfortable, a credit to Tracey and Alastair. Close to village, road and ferry terminal. Seals, ponies, sheep and seagulls all in evidence. Stunning views - when the sun shines! Only drawback is the hundred yard or so walk to the cottage from the car park. In the teeth of Hebridean wind and rain this short distance can leave one very wet and windblown. Great place, great people, great holiday.
