“Paradise Found” We were so sorry to leave after a fabulous week here. Everything was perfect, including the location backing onto a quiet cove with the beautiful turquoise water of the ocean right outside the front door. We loved exploring the island's various beaches including Starfish Point with starfish galore. We also enjoyed many wonderful meals (excellent seafood everywhere you go) at some of the island's great restaurants including upstairs at Kaibo for fine dining and downstairs on the beach and under the stars for pizza and other more casual fare. Over the Edge was fun for its ocean-side location and it was lovely to be able to just walk across the road for the Monday Night Beach Buffet at Wreck Beach (not to mention the stunning sunsets every night) and then to try something a little more upscale at the Rum Point Restaurant near by. There was lots to do. We enjoyed kayaking including a night paddle into the cove to witness the amazing bioluminescence, biking, swimming, paddle boarding, snorkelling and walking the beaches. We also took a half-day excursion to the Botanic Gardens and saw lots of iguanas and gorgeous flowering plants. But the best part was coming back to the beautiful beach house, enjoying the breezes and the view from the two-storey screened in lanai and the wonderfully comfy beds. It was also lovely to have the option of cooking in the gourmet kitchen with its high-end appliances and cookware or just barbecuing outside the back door rather than going out to eat every night. One tip - be sure to pick up your groceries at one of the large food stores near the airport when you land as the there aren't many good food shopping options close to the house. We loved it here and will definitely be back!

“Wonderful!” This was our first vacation to Cayman and it was fantastic. This villa is beautiful and peaceful. It is on the quiet side of the island, away from the large hotels and resorts. The beach is literally out the back door. We snorkeled every day at the corral reef out back, often several times a day. The reef was amazing and we saw a huge variety of colorful fish ... one day even saw a turtle! One afternoon we went snorkeling at the beach at Morritt's resort (east end on Queens Highway), and saw numerous tarpin fish under the pier, and also stingrays. More than once, we enjoyed going to Rum Point (very short drive from villa) for fancy tropical cocktails and hanging out at yet another beach. We had a fantastic fresh fish meal at Kurt's Corner but most nights just made dinner ourselves. The villa has a very well-equipped kitchen, actually well-equipped everything - with games, books, even extra sunscreen when we needed it. We spent most of a day at the turtle farm and swam with the turtles, and lingered for a long time in their aviary enjoying the birds. One day we went to the Botanical Garden (not far from the villa), and saw gorgeous plants, a couple of turtles, and huge iguanas. The best part was always coming "home" to our villa, and enjoying the peace and quiet. More than one day was spent all day at the villa - snorkeling, reading, walking on the beach, napping, snorkeling again, and reading. Just a perfect combination of relaxation and appreciating the beauty of the island. Frank and Del gave a lot of recommendations that made this a very memorable vacation. We will definitely return.

“Amazing Honeymoon” Rum and Kai was the best place we could have ever spent our honeymoon. We were there for 12 days. It was so much more affordable than a hotel on 7 mile and so much better. You walk in the front door and can see out the porch to the beautiful ocean view. It is on the side of the complex, so no traffic in front. You have these wonderful breezes that come off the ocean on the screened in porch. We spent one whole day just reading there to get out of the sun. Many places in Grand Cayman do not have much of a beach, but the beach at the Retreat was wonderful. They have loungers out already, and there are palm trees so no need for an umbrella. But the apartment had everything in case you needed it, and I mean everything: snorkel gear, coolers, beach chairs, amazing beach towels, grill, and even koozies. We felt so lucky to be able to stay there. It was the off season, so most days we had the beach completely to ourselves. The restraunt and bar at Rum Point were a few steps from the beach, and there were plenty of other great restraunts near Rum Point, especially Kai Bo. You do need a car if you stay here, but well worth it. I cannot believe some people only stay on 7-mile. You really do miss everything if you do not come to the North Side or the East side of the island. We cannot wait to come back. The snorkeling is great right off the beach at the Retreat. It was a great vacation and an amazing honeymoon.
