Granada holidays
Granada is a picturesque and historic city in Southern Spain. Built atop rolling hillsides, the city is architecturally interesting and physically beautiful. Founded by Moors in the 9th century, Granada was eventually conquered by the Spanish crown in the 16th century. As a result, the city is a mix of Moorish and Spanish architecture and culture, typified by the city's incredible Moorish fortress, La Alhambra. Granada is located in the picturesque foothills of Spain's Sierra Nevada, whose green peaks make a lovely backdrop to this historic city. - Museo Casa Federico Garcia Lorca: The famed surrealist poet Federico Garcia Lorca spent summers at his family's house in Granada, now a small museum chronicling his life through photographs and artefacts.
- Albayzin: Granada's historic Muslim neighbourhood is a charming tangle of narrow streets where visitors and residents congregate for craft shopping and dine in wonderful Middle Eastern restaurants.
- Hammam Banos Arabes: These Moorish baths were built even before the construction of the Alhambra, but you can still soak in their warm waters.
- Monasterio de la Cartuja: Considered one of Spain's most beautiful monasteries, La Cartuja was built over 300 years, with a 16th century facade and a 17th century nave.
