"Glenlivit view stay"

Having booked this short break through tripadvisor i traveled with my wife, 13 year old son and his friend. We were not disappointed with the cabin size, rooms, utilities and especially the views. The … More

Thank you for your review- I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay & hope you might come back in the future. I'm not sure where you went shopping but there are quite a few shops closer to the lodge and open long hours. Plus, if you do come back and bring the teens with you, there are also plenty of activities near Glenlivet - water sports, cycle trails with bike-hire, climbing, etc..... A bit energetic if you ask me but it'd keep them occupied I'm sure!

Thanks so much for your review. I'm sorry the hot water was an issue for you - it's not a problem we've had before - perhaps it's because it's an immersion system so it can take a little time to reheat between baths/showers. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your visit and hope you might come back again.

"Icy temperatures bring family together"

The Mill is everything you'd expect from a perfect self-catering lodge, in the summer. The location is divine, the old mill-turned-into-modern-bungalow is charming, the landscapes are romantic, the ow… More

We are sorry that you were not warm enough during your recent stay in The Mill. In an effort to make it comfortable for you, we had switched on the heating two days prior to your arrival. Clearly this was insufficient on this occasion, for which we offer our sincere apologies. The Mill is our largest property, sleeping up to six and accommodating up to twelve for meals. With thick stone walls it does take a while to heat up after being unoccupied for a few weeks during a Cairngorms winter. When fully occupied, some guests actually end up turning the heating down as it is too warm for them, even at that time of year. Guests staying in The Mill the following week told us it was quite comfortable. Our three other cottages are probably more suitable for smaller parties. Each sleeps up to four and heats up to a comfortable level more quickly than the larger building. Improvements currently planned for The Mill include further draught-proofing and improved insulation. We hope these measures will make The Mill cosier for smaller parties during the winter months in future. We will also be increasing the winter pre-arrival warm up period for The Mill from two to four days.
