“Stunning” We stayed in the ground floor 2 bed apartment which is huge and features a beautiful patio/garden area with pool. The sympathetic conversion has contemporary design elements that blend seamlessly with the old creating a unique space that is very relaxing. As soon as you walk in you realize that you are somewhere very special that could have only been created by an owner/architect with real vision, talent and love for the building. We will be back. We ate many lovely restaurants in Girona the best of which was called Nu. We hired road bikes from Girona Cycle Centre who are great and can show you fantastic rides from the city out into the countryside.

“experience that appeals to all senses” We decided to spend our vacation in Girona because of this house which we saw in Dezeen Internet design magazine. A master peace of architecture the house has exceeded all our expectations. The architecture of the house is strong and clean, reflects the spirit of the place and combines old and new in a wise, accurate manner. The house is free of any excessive ornamentalism and it is the architectural solutions that give it warmth and beauty. The outmost attention has been given to each and every detail (including the black soap in the bathrooms…), and the unique integration of all the details and materials creates harmony, peace and a sense that everything is in its exact place, as if it has always been there. In spite of its great beauty, this is a living house which enables convenient and natural flow. We soaked up atmosphere of the house for five days, sitting in the amazing balcony overlooking the university, hearing music from the selection of discs on offer, enjoying wonderful breakfasts in the lovely, well equipped kitchen and enjoying every single moment. We wish to command the kindness and warm attention of the owner, Juan Ribera. Due to family circumstances, we were forced to change the date of our arrival, and he unhesitatingly agreed to find an alternative date for us although it was no longer possible to rent the house to anyone else on the original dates. Upon our arrival a bottle of wine with a Hebrew label awaited us – a small, touching gesture of attention. The pretty housekeeper, with her red car, followed this very same spirit giving us a warm, homely feeling. And as food is a must – the NU restaurant, which is located at the center of town, is recommended. Order two dishes – cannelloni with sea fruit and frutti di bosco (mixed berries)and pork chops.
