"Loved walking to the boulangerie for croissants each morning!"

We were 2 couples traveling together. Plenty of room, plenty of privacy, extremely well equipped with thoughtful extras as paper towels, 2 hair dryers, dish and dishwasher and washing machine soaps p… More

Thank you for your lovely comments! We think this is a really nice 2 bedroom cottage with a great village centre location. We enjoyed meeting you and are so pleased to hear how much you have enjoyed your holiday. We are sorry there isn't more car space next to the cottage, it is possible to park one vehicle (our Ford Galaxy is OK) and there is plenty of free parking immediately opposite in the village square.

"Lovely cottage, location may not suit some"

This cottage has been beautifully restored and renovated and is well equipped with up-to-date equipment. Previous guest reviews indicated that the bikes provided were much appreciated (we didn't use … More

Glad you enjoyed the feather bed - we have three of these and thinking of buying more as they are clearly very popular. Comfortable beds are our priority - see reviews from other of our cottages. I appreciate our guests may find the traffic a bit close but actually its not that busy and the terrace is south facing and secluded by a good fence, and only the side of the cottage is next to the roadway. The terrace leads off the sitting room and kitchen so ideal for meals outside. The little supermarket is one of the best - it belongs to a local butcher and provides best quality meat, veg, bakery etc. A new bakery is being built next door to the shop. Worth coming to try it out - it is a really lovely cottage and well equipped. Ann

"Nice apartment but isolated"

The property was as advertised, but the village of Francueil feels very isolated. No shops (except the requisit boulangerie and small grocery.) Even the poste was on very limited hours (August) - 2-… More

So sorry you felt the cottage was isolated, but many people will like this. There are good country walks, the vineyards are only a short walk across towards St Georges and the village has a nice lake. A short walk towards the river takes you down alongside Chateau de Chenonceau, there is a good restaurant on this route. The bar opposite the cottage is open most lunchtimes and evenings and is very friendly.
