The Boat Show will be returning to London in 2010 for its 56th year of celebrating all things nautical. It is being held at the ExCeL London Exhibition centre in the heart of London’s Royal Docks, and promises the attendance of over 500 exhibitors. Whether you are a first time sailor looking for inspiration, or a die-hard yachting enthusiast, there will be something at this large event to grab your interest. There will be the opportunity to view beautiful classic boats, watch deck games, buy yachting equipment and watch the various displays at the “Show Stage”. The Black & White Bar will be providing Guinness and snacks for when visitors are feeling weary.

As one of the biggest UK boat shows, the event normally manages to pull in various famous faces. The 2009 Boat Show was opened by Kelly Brook and representatives from HMS Westminster, and guest speakers included Dame Ellen MacArthur, Sir Keith Mills and members of the RNLI. Boat Show tickets for 2010 are already on sale so why not incorporate it into a trip to London in the New Year? There is plenty at the Show to interest children, and afterwards you could continue the maritime theme by visiting the stunning Royal Naval Hospital and National Maritime Museum in Greenwich.
