To the delight of reunion
Wonderful place for a large family holiday

Sixteen of us, 8 adults, 2 teenagers and 6 younger children stayed for a week at the end of May. This is ideal accommodation for an extended family, with indoor swimming pool, very large enclosed private gardens equipped with play equipment including large trampoline, table tennis, etc. Wonderful for children! The linked cottages, 2 fully newly renovated and one older more traditional, which shared 3 kitchens and ample room for dining were eminently suitable for our needs. Brand new gas BBQ. There were 10 well-maintained bikes to suit adults and children, and deer and hares were spotted during morning and evening rides through a flat landscape of cornfields, hamlets and villages. The pool was a good size and greatly used, with lots of floating toys available for the children, who needed to be supervised due to its depth of 2m at one end. There is a lockable glass door and it is warmed by sun passing through the roof and was 25 deg. C at the end of May. We took advantage of the offer of accessing the tennis court in the local village 2km away for 30 euros for the week. In the event we could just turn up and use it with the key provided without booking. This was very popular with our group. The accommodation was very clean and well equipped. The owner Nathalie lived next door and this was her childhood holiday home. She made sure that we had everything we needed and was very helpful. We visited Chartres, Paris, Rambouillet Chateau and travelled through the countryside on hired 'velorails' cycle/trolleys along an old nearby railway track. Supermarkets are 6km away. Comfortable and elegant townhouse

My husband and I spent 3 delightful weeks during the holiday season at this lovely renovated apartment in the heart of Chartres about two blocks from the main square. Our kind host, Anne, was very attentive to our needs, and responsive to all requests. We we arrived without a reservation because other accommodations had not worked out, and she made it possible for us to stay in the studio apt. next door for a few days until the 2-bedroom became available. Both apartments were spotless, with comfortable furniture and beds. The tiled shower was excellent, with plenty of hot water. We did not have a car, but did have a space reserved for occupants of the apt. in the courtyard . The apartment kitchen was small, but had what we needed to prepare meals. Trips to the green market on Saturdays were a treat, and we found several favorite restaurants. We often walked around the perimeter of the beautiful old town. It is hard to take a bad photo in that area. We walked to the station and hopped on trains to Rembouille to see the summer palace of several kings, and to Paris (about an hour's trip east from Chartres). There are many destinations to explore to the west as well, in Normandy and Loire Valley. We enjoyed being in such a central location. We will definitely stay … see more
