“Wonderful farmhouse!” Huge thank you for a lovely stay. The farm house was just wonderful - it was warm, cosy and inviting after a wet days hike; there was plenty of hot water for baths and showers and the drying room was super for all our wet and muddy boots. We even managed to sit in the garden and watch the amazing birds. The housekeeping staff were fantastic - the farm house was perfect when we arrived and they were around during the week if we needed anything. Eskdale is a beautiful part of the Lake District and the farmhouse was a super base to explore . What was particularly great was the number of trail heads literally right on the doorstep - stone circles, tarns, fells, rivers, waterfalls etc. We explored Stanley Gill by foot,; Hardknott Pass was a few miles away; Wastwater and Wasdale were a short hike away or a short drive. Also, the Ravenglass & Eskdale steam train is a short walk from the house and we took to Muncaster Castle. Thanks again!

“The perfect escape” Write a list of what you hope for and Waswater cottage will excede your expectations 10 fold. The cottage has everything. Comfort wise it is supurb. Beautiful lounge, well kitted kitchen. Good WIFI, excellent Sky package, ultimate luxury. You would be pleased to have a home this good. Comfortable mattresses in ensuite bedrooms guarantee you wake fresh in the morning. Excellent location for the lakes and the west coast. 2 friendly pubs offering good food both only a very short walk. Huge garden with BBQ facilities. Escape from rat race and chill out. You'll love.

“A Wonderful Introduction to the Lake District” This was our first trip to the Lake District and I'm delighted that I stumbled on these cottages. They are brilliantly situated in a lovely quiet village in the western lakes district. I didn't appreciate how lovely and quiet everything was until we drove around to some of the other towns and lakes and then I realized what a gem we had found. Greg, the owner was incredibly helpful with great tips on walks and hikes in the valley. The cottage itself was very cosy and because we had such beautiful weather we would often spend the late afternoon laying out in the garden or riverside picnic area that is part of the property. It was a wonderful trip and was the perfect antidote to a hectic season in London.

“Fantastic cosy, comfortable cottage in idyllic location - can't wait to go back!” From the moment we enquired to book with Select Cottages we received excellent personable customer service - quick to respond, efficient and friendly. A great deal of thought has gone into making the cottage comfortable and a wonderful place to relax in after a day on the fells or a stroll by the beck/waterfall. We were made to feel very welcome and it is truly a home away from home. Peace and solitude coupled with internet and Sky TV for checking in with the real world! For us, the accommodation and location would take some beating. Roll on October when we will be back again.
