“Fantastic” We went as a large group for my husbands surprise 60th birthday. The house is lovely with plenty of room for everyone to wander in without feeling over crowded. Lovely touch of a huge celebration balloon, chocolates, champagne and sweets. There were flowers in all rooms which were lovely and made it feel really homely. The bedrooms were decorated lovely and were exceptionally clean with towels, slippers and gowns for all guests. The lounge and sitting area were sooo cosy and had a lovely big wood burner. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for any kind of meal/occasion. Patio area was fantastic which led to the games room annexe which again was excellent for all ages. Garden was stunning with lots of seating areas and of course close to the river which was super. There is also an indoor heated pool which we all had great fun in, it was warm and clean plus lots of inflatables which the children loved. The dining room again was very nice and the furnishings around the room gave that extra special feel although we did feel the dining room table was a wee bit big to enjoy a family meal but we worked around this and still had a lovely meal. Real value for money and somewhere we would all love to visit again.

“The perfect location” We have grandchildren of various ages and we all love it at The Roundhouse. This was our 7th visit and we have booked for next year too. The children love the trampolines and pool, we all love the tennis, the men love the pool table and table tennis. It is perfect for all ages. Sue and John are lovely hosts, always there if needed but there is no interferance. This year we took advantage of the bicycle hire. Fremington Quay is about 11/2 miles and the children can now cycle there. There are plenty of places to eat out or use the take a way from Han Chinese and the house facilities are second to none.

“So much to do in one place!” It would be quite possible to stay here without once using a car, as there is so much to do around the farm, and the village only 10 minutes walk away. Fremington Quay was beautiful (don't rely on the bike shop there though, he advertises as open, but wasn't actually there), we swam every day, and enjoyed walks from the farm. But we had to use the car, because I couldn't resist the delights of Exmoor, and the walks on the Hangman Hills. The cottage was so comfortable and beautiful, and all that was missing was a vegetable peeler and something to poke the fire with! We came in February, and I'd like to come back in the summer and make even more of the many outdoor spaces.

“Fantastic” This is a fantastic holiday home for a family, there was plenty of space and beautiful gardens with all the equipment to keep the children happy, we just wish it had been the summer and we could have made use of the swimming pool. Hopefully we will go back one day in the warmer weather. The owners keep this property to a very high standard and could not be anymore helpful. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

“Outstanding cottage with plenty to entertain the kids.” We received a warm welcome from the owner Sue upon our arrival, complimentary free range eggs, tea, coffee and milk in the fridge for that all important cup of tea after a long journey. Courtyard Cottage was well equipped and had everything you needed. It was very spacious for a 2 bed cottage having an en-suite to each bedroom was a huge plus for us, showers were powerful and plenty of hot water. The facilities were excellent, our first experience of a jet pool and the kids loved it, made good use of the badminton court, table tennis and kids play area. Cycled several times being so close to the Tarka Trail, we took our own bikes but we didn't know Combrew hired them out at a very reasonable rate. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to family and friends we had a brilliant holiday.

“Fantastic accommodation with every need catered for.” This is a great house set in beautiful grounds. It was really clean and had everything we needed. Everything was really clean and the owners were very helpful. We had age ranges from 7 to 60 and all were catered for. The size s fine for a party of 10. I would holy recommend it.

“Great short break away from the rat race.” Great converted barn converted to a high standard. The owners John and Renate are really nice and welcoming. You are free to wonder around the farm and meet the sheep and lambs. The interior of the cottage is set up well with two double room with an en suite bathroom for each. Really useful if you are travelling as two couples. The lane that the satnav takes you down is a little narrow, however, the alternative one suggested by John was far better. If you want to get away from it all then this is excellent. We will be going back for a longer stay.

“5 star accommodation and 5 star service” Stayed here for a weekend with a group of friends - 10 adults, 4 kids, baby and a dog. Accommodation was amazing and couldnt fault it for large family gatherings etc. Weather wasnt really suited to swimming but 2 of the kids braved the pool and they had a great time. Picturesque villages nearby and pub at Blockley did lovely Sunday lunch for large group at short notice. Sarah at GIVE properties couldnt have been more helpful and even posted back a teddy bear that was accidently left behind.

“A fantastic place to spend a holiday” The Stables is a fantastic holiday venue. Lisa & Mike were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Where do I begin, watching the stars whilst sitting in the hot tub, watching George & Albert - the adorable donkeys, fantastic walks with amazing views right from the door step, delicious food at The Swan and many great attractions within a short drive. Roman Baths and Cheddar Gorge were fantastic. We would recommend The Stables to anyone who likes first class holidays

“Party of 7 (3 bedroom option) - We all love Love LOVED Great Tangley Manor!” The whole process, from booking, arriving, staying and leaving was easy (well as easy as leaving such a lovely house can be!). Nicho kept us well informed and provided all the information we could possibly need during our stay. We can think of nothing they could have done better. Nicho and the owners made us feel very welcome and the tour was very interesting. Maybe this is why we all settled in and felt at home straight away. For a large house it feels surprisingly cosy. There were 3 young children in our party and they found the house fascinating. This presented us with a problem getting them to leave the house for days out and whilst out, there was the constant, 'Are we going back now?' so my advice to parents is make it easy on yourself and don't bother to leave the house! There are so many things to wax lyrical about; the great setting, the fascinating history (especially sitting in the dining room with its panels from the Armada and big window you feel like you are sitting in a ship), the kitchen with the modern glass house and how it doesn't feel at all at odds with the more historic parts, how much fun it was rustling up family dinners in the lovely kitchen, the grandeur yet comfortable ambience of every room. We feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to stay in such a place. We are veterans of the Landmark Trust properties and this just blew them all away. It had all the 21st century comforts yet didn't compromise the historic aspect. The only downside is a week later we are still pining for the Manor.

“Wonderful retreat!!!” I cannot fault Coombe Farm. It was my 30th and a large group of us, and Angela and Tim couldnt have been more accomodating, they were totally relaxed and we forgot they were on site! the house is beautiful, we all felt as though it was 'ours' for thr weekend and didnt want to leave! it was very well equipped for parties, cooking and everything, and the dressing up box made for some amusing photos!! it snowed heavily in the few days before so we were worried we might not make it but Angela took all the stress out of it. we had an amazing few days and would love to come back!!!

“ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!” I booked this Manor House for 17 people for my best friend's hen weekend and I cannot rate it highly enough. I knew it was going to be amazing from the photos but they really don't do it justice. The house is absolutely, unbelievably incredible - the party turned up in dribs and drabs and every single person was amazed as they took the tour. We were blessed with good weather on the Friday so were able to spend time lounging by the pool - we felt like we were in a luxury Spanish villa. Unfortunately there were torrential storms on Friday night and the rain kept up on Saturday morning but we still used the pool - it just made the experience more interesting! We went to a local pub (The Old Spot in Dursley) for lunch on Saturday, also highly recommended as they were very accommodating and the food was fantastic. The weather cleared up again so we did more pool lounging on Saturday afternoon, followed by hen do games and a bit of a party in the evening. There was even a cinema room in the pool house to play a recorded version of Mr & Mrs! This is the ultimate house for a group of friends to get together and just have a fantastic time - the house, the grounds, the pool, everything was just amazing and I can't think of one negative thing to say. Candida was amazing all the way through, so helpful and even left a bottle of champagne and strawberries out with a card for the hen. What a lovely touch! I can't recommend this house highly enough - for a large group of people you'll only end up spending what you would on an average hotel per night and it's more than worth it!

“Exceeded expectations!” Wonderful place to stay with equally wonderful hosts and food from their daughter. We wanted complete relaxation in beautiful surroundings and that is exactly what we got. My only criticism would be that we weren't allowed to take their adorable dog Bramble home with us!

“wish i could live at the walnut house” it is the best holiday home ive stayed in and wish i lived there. chris and wendy are the best host/owners you could meet, there friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. We left cot covers at home and they went shopping for us so our baby could sleep that night. Chris took us to watch england match in his car. all i can say im looking forward to return just hope not many people fine this place so that i can get in. the place is very clean peaceful but close to all needs. thanks again chris and wendy

“Easter break” Highly recommend this lovely house and its stunning location. The house was very clean, spacious and extremely well equipped. The owner couldn’t do anymore to provide information, and added a lovely personal touch by leaving my father a card and bottle for his 70th birthday. The facilities such as the pool table/table football etc created entertainment for both adults and children. A lovely, relaxing break.
