“Perfect escape from it all cottage.” Sat just outside Otterburn within the heart of Northumberland, the Granary is a brilliant base for exploring. Kate the owner has thought of everything you could need and is on hand with hints for places to go. Great views from the upside down layout, including sheep TV! Will definitely return. Can’t wait.

“Cosy Base for exploring the peaks......” Great communication with Helen prior to and on the day of arrival, She's a lovely person and makes you feel very welcome and at home, also arrived to find a very nice breakfast hamper with Tea & Coffee etc also available, a nice thing to do. Chestnut Barn is very clean, cosy and welcoming, with everything you could want whilst away. A great little hide away for exploring the surrounding area (we walked the Monsal Trail starting at Monsal Head) and further into the Peak District. A very nice pub that allows dogs, with also a chip shop in the village (closes at 8pm on a Friday) and an indian restaurant / Take Away a little further up the road. Myself, Sarah & Bailey the goldendoodle really enjoyed our 2 night stay, thank you very much Helen.

“Lovely Hideaway” After a bit of a journey via sat nav we arrived at the property to find we couldn't get in. Somewhere along the line we hadn't received the communication with directions and key access. After tracking Emily down we were all sorted. The house itself is lovely. Really clean spacious and well equipped. As mentioned in other reviews the creaky flooring really is an issue for anyone sleeping in the bedroom below. We had to creep carefully to avoid waking them. It's for this reason that I couldn't give 5 stars. I would like to recommend that it be noted that this property is only suitable for under 3's if you bring your own high chair etc. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay.

“Excellent week away that went to fast.” Charlotte and her family were on hand to help with anything. Nothing was too much for them. My 2 children enjoyed feeding the lambs and chickens on the small holding with Charlotte. The house is amazing. Everything you could need from comfortable beds, kitchen utensil. And underfloor heating. I will definitely book again as there are loads of things to see and do in that beautiful part of the world.

“Lovely Clean Comfortable and Quiet Cottage” Stayed here for 4 nights during half term. It was a lovely cottage with everything you could want. Lovely personal touches and brilliant that Judy provided milk, butter, jam and a loaf on arrival. The approach road was a bit hairy and I caught my exhaust on it every time! Could have been signposted better on the main road as a bit difficult to find. Also would have been nice to have larger bath sheets instead of bath towels. Having said all that I would stay here again.

“40th Birthday Fun” We had a great time at the barn. It was perfect for the kids and the big kids! Lots of ping pong was played and the facilities were great to keep a large number of people fed, happy and entertained. Pods are fantastic, disco lights are a lovely touch! Derek was on hand for everything that we needed and happy to take time to explain things. Thank you!
