“Excellent accommodation and location for Edinburgh and surrounding areas” The Annexe provides excellent and well appointed accommodation for a couple wishing to explore Edinburgh (a 15 min bus journey) and the surrounding areas. We went for the festival and The Annexe provided an excellent base with everything you could want in a 'home from home'. The owner has thought of everything from washing-up liquid (and dishwasher tablets!) to super soft towels. We would recommend The Annexe without hesitation.

“Holiday hommie!!!” The best part staying in the apartment (holidaying) is that you can still be on the couch (potato) with the remote in your hand and then just go across to any of the pubs in the city at will. Stayed for 2 days and it was refreshing experience for me and the family where my nephew had more fun coz of the space he got to roam across the apartment. I'd definetely reco apartments rentals for family of 4 or more staying for a min of 2 nights. I had fun, so must you!

“Great location!” We stayed in this apartment for 6 nights from Sept 5 - 11, 2013. All up front correspondence was answered promptly and Dave Stewart met us at the apartment for check-in with no problems. The location is fantastic - 1 block and you're on the Royal Mile. You can walk anywhere from this location. Lots of shops and restaurants are at the doorstep. Many of the tours we took had meeting locations very close to the apartment on the Royal Mile. The apartment is spacious and the wifi was easy to access. We took advantage of the washer & dryer and used the dishwasher without any problems. A few notes of caution for future travellers: while most of the apartment is clean, the carpets in the 2 bedrooms are stained and need to be replaced. As another reviewer noted, the sofas in the living room are very worn and a bitty smelly and should also be replaced. There were also some very noisy neighbors above us who stomped around late at night and woke us up several nights in the wee hours. One last item to note is the bathroom sink is really small and the hot & cold water taps are separated so a bit awkward to use.

“comfortable” We (family of four, two teens) stayed at the Thistle Suite during our visit to Edinburgh and found it very comfortable. It's just a few blocks away from Waverly Station trains and buses which makes it a very convenient location. It's a bit of a walk to the castle and the Royal Mile but is still a good location. Off the beaten path so mostly very quiet except for some street construction but we barely noticed it. The bed in the "master" is small... a tight fit for two adult people accustomed to a king size bed and the apartment is up two flights of stairs... not a big deal but things you might want to know. Otherwise very comfortable with everything you will need. We ate at Fisher's in the City which is good seafood - felt a bit out of place not realizing that it was fancier than we were expecting. There is a Thai restaurant that we really enjoyed... Dusit or Durit I think it was called. The Italian place on the corner - Rusticana? - was fine (although after a day of beautiful art at the gallery the "decor" was assaultive). Most days we'd been out sightseeing and didn't really think about dinner till we were done with the day, tired and hungry. This was a mistake on our part. One surprise is that most restaurants in Edinburgh seem to require advanced reservations. Had trouble finding a place to eat in the evening during the busy hours. Our phones don't work overseas and there's no phone in the apartment so I don't know how we were supposed to make reservations. I guess we could have done it online but that honestly didn't occur to me till just this minute... Another surprise was that we were turned away from dining at The Queens arms because our daughter is 14... The reservations and the 'not licensed for children' is just different than we're accustomed to at home. But overall the apartment itself is comfortable and well located.

“Such a nice flat” I really received a great service got my keys right away and when I got at the flat everything was very clean and tidy. The flat has a very good space. The living room has a wide screen TV with many channels and confortable couches. The double room has an excellent wardrobe and the bed is also very confortable. The kitchen contains all the stuff necessary to cook during any staying. It`s located near the center of the city, just 15 minutes walking and 5 minutes on a bus.It provides a bus stop just in front of the building. What a really enjoyed in the flat was the price of the rent, the confort and how convenient was living in a place with so many shops around. I really recommend it.
