“Lovely spacious apartment” We have just spent 5 nights at the Oystercatcher and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was very clean and well equipped and the location was perfect for popping down to the beach, shops and restaurants. Alastair, the owner, was very understanding when we thought we might have to cancel the week before due to our daughter and family now being under new Covid restrictions. However, my husband and I are so glad we decided to still go and our son and granddaughter were able to join us for a few days. After a recommendation from Alastair, we ordered a meal from the Osteria restaurant below and the staff very kindly brought it upstairs to us. What a treat!! All in all we would definitely recommend the Oystercatcher apartment and hope to return with our family.

“Wonderful apartment, superb location” We had a great week in North Berwick, staying in this luxurious aprtment. Every kitchen utensil and piece of equipment that we needed, comfortable beds, great big TV to watch the Commonwealth Games (when we weren't there in person ;-)). Centrally located, we walked everywhere, including up the Law, to the station, to the beach and harbour etc. Really enjoyed local restaurant Osteria, Rocketeer restaurant and the new ice cream parlour on the corner opposite. A great week, only possible due to the most fantastic apartment!

Beachfront ground flat - fab views across Forth WITH PRIVATE OFF-STREET PARKING
The perfect beachside accommodation

I stayed here with my Mum and 2 children in July this year, we had an amazing week of weather and having our accommodation right at the beach was just perfect. We could come and go for lunch, toilet breaks and just to get a bit of shade so easily. 2 minutes walk form The Seabird Centre, the park, the putting green, the chip shop, the ice cream shop. Basically it was absolutely perfectly positioned for us. The accommodation itself was really lovely and spacious, clean, had everything we could ever need really. Like being at home (but not). Host (Lorraine) was helpful, friendly and always at the end of the phone if needed. We stay in North Berwick every year for our holidays and I think this has been out favourite place to stay so far - we will definitely be back next year. :) … see more

Absolutely wonderful!!

Stayed here with extended family to celebrate my sons 18th birthday. The house looked lovely on the website but the photos actually do not do the property justice! It is a stunning huge property with plenty of charm and character. Everything you could possibly need plus spoilt for choice with the toilets/bathrooms on every level! The house was very clean on arrival. I could go on but bottom line is we all loved the house and will absolutely be back! Only one problem…..we couldn’t find a sweeping brush and our younger children left quite a bit of sand from the beach at the front door - apologies to the cleaners … see more

Perfect location for a relaxing getaway

This was our first time visiting this area but it definitely won’t be our last. We absolutely fell in love with Gullane and East Lothian. This holiday cottage made the perfect base for exploring the local area and had absolutely everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The property was warm and inviting, well maintained and felt like a true home away from home. We never struggled to find a parking space just opposite to the cottage as it is right at the end of a quiet residential area. Our dog absolutely loved his daily walks across the bents and down to the stunning beach (approx 15 minute walk away). We also loved walking in to the village, which has absolutely everything you need from brunch spots to evening meals (again approx 15 minute walk). We wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. … see more

Relaxing

If you want a beautifully equipped tranquil cottage, which is off the beaten track then this is the place for you! The only sound that will wake you up in the morning is the birdsong! If you are lucky you might see the deer! We took the train into Edinburgh a few times, which is so simple and efficient, you park and ride from Wallyford station and then return back to the sanctuary of the cottage. Glenkinchie distillery, which is only a mile away,is well worth a visit. The hosts have thought of everything, fresh flowers, a hamper basket full of treats, so many thoughtful and personal touches, which makes the cottage very homely. We can’t wait to return back to Bramble cottage, even with the long drive, it was well worth the madness of the motorway! … see more
The Quayside Apartment
Great views at this holiday apartment

We stayed here for 2 nights in May 2023. Communication was great right from ore-booking. Information about check in/out was clear as where the directions to the apartment. 7 of us stayed. I have to say that the views from the apartment are worth booking for alone. I really enjoyed my morning coffee and my evening glass of wine sitting at the window, looking out to sea. If you have young children, this place really caters for your children. There is a play area right outside. We stayed when there was a Harbour festival, we really enjoyed watching the raft races from the living room window. There was a snack bar on the beach that had queues all day long, although we never tried it ourselves. We enjoyed a long walk on the beach with the family dog. We didn't see a lot of Musselborough as we had plans in Edinburgh for most of the time we stayed. There was a Lidl supermarket just over the road and a pub on the corner. The apartment has 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en suite, with a waterfall shower. There's another bathroom with a shower over the bath. The small bedroom had a single bed and bunkbeds, that our 3 older children stayed in. The other bedroom had twin beds that we had requested be set as a double bed for the weekend. We all slept well. There were toys/bath toys and board games at the apartment, which is great for any younger children staying. We were able to easily park 2 cars outside the front door throughout our stay, although there was underground parking for one car if needed. The bedrooms and bathrooms were really clean, with fresh bedding on arrival. There was a hairdryer for use if needed. Just a heads up, there was no mirror in the largest/smallest bedrooms, there was one in the en suite, but as someone who would want a mirror near a plug for drying my hair in the bedroom, I would recommend taking one with you if you stay. Now for my 'niggles'. I expected the dishes/cutlery ect to be clean on arrival, however we found a couple of very dirty plates in the cupboard and dirty knives in the drawer. As guests are asked to clean the dishes before they leave, I suppose this is a risk. On discovering these, as i was about to serve dinner, i washed everything before use. There was food of some sort stuck to the sofa seat when we arrived, again I cleaned this off. We were left 6 towels for 7 guests and the coffee table in the living room had a very wobbly leg and looked in need of repair. We were left details of the cleaner and I could have made contact, if it was such a big issue. There we're cleaning products in the cupboard, so it was easy enough to do myself.
