“Great location Great apartment Lovely hosts.” Great location close to the centre of Ambleside, easy walking distance to shops restaurants pubs etc! Private parking off road in front of property is free! Great apartment set over 2 floors, 1st and 2nd. 1st floor accessed by stairs comprises of large lounge/dining area, with comfy sofa and chairs, small dining table and chairs, DTV with dvd, shelves with a library of books, dvd's and games,plus information leaflets.Large modern kitchen fully equipped with hob, oven, dishwasher washing machine/dryer and microwave plus all pots pans cutlery and utensils. Bathroom with full length bath with shower over plus toilet and basin (vanity mirror) and heated towel rail. Space under stairs to hang coats stor shoes etc. 2nd floor accessed by stairs comprises large bedroom with king bed (very comfy),side tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe, plus ensuite toilet and basin area leading off! This room is a dormer, so ceiling is slanted (watch your head) The whole place was spotlessly clean, heating if required was easily controlled from thermostat in lounge. Hot water was plentiful and on demand after a very short delay!! There are views of the hills from some windows, just a lovely place to stay! We were greeted initially by Michael a very pleasant man who guided us thru the facilities, and later met David also very pleasant, who seemed most concerned that we didnt get cold during our stay. They live on the lower floor of the building and are readily available to assist in any enquiries, however, they were inobtrusive during our stay and although we met in passing and chatted, we were not disturbed in any way. We would highly recommend this apartment to any other couples

“Well presented” Lovely cottage in picturesque surrounding area. Stayed here for a week- I could not think of anything that could be improved. The cottage was well presented-cosy but the little extras were nicely thought of. Thank you Christine- We had the best of the weather. What luck?

“Cute, cosy and welcoming!” As soon as we walked in, the cottage welcomed us and we felt relaxed and at home. The owners are friendly and very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay. We already know and love the area, but the lovely, homely cottage enhanced our visit to Silloth.

“Superb All Year Round Holiday Accommodation” This was our second visit to Soutwaite Green - this time in the larger Beckside to bring other family members to enjoy the superb eco-friendly site and luxurious accommodation which was cool in hot weather and really warm in cold weather. As usual we received a friendly welcome from the owner who when pressed was always happy to talk about the energy efficient houses and the planting which has been done on the surrounding land - really thoughtfully planned and just right for an evening stroll with picnic areas and viewing points. The site is just a 5 minute drive to Cockermouth with its small interesting shops, but also a handy supermarket and of course Wordsworth's childhood house. It is short drive to Buttermere and so many other places in just stunning scenery.. The thing I like best is that the houses are so well and thoughtfully appointed with bathroom/shower rooms for each bedroom and extremely comfortable beds. My only disappointment was that we were never cold enough to light the log fire in Beckside.
