“Exceptional holiday house in Rethymno” I stayed at Palazzo d'Acqua with my husband and our two sons (ages 5 and 2) and my two brothers. The house is located in the centre of Atsipopoulo, a short 15 minute drive from the centre of Rethymno. It was very clean, well equiped as far as the kitchen goes, the rooms are very spacious. We loved the terrace - great for star-gazing at night. The owners were very helpful and friendly, were waiting for us when we arrived and gave useful suggestions for restaurants etc in the area. The two flights of stairs were a bit of a concern given that we have young children, so families with young children should be prepared to supervise the children carefully - but we didn't find that to be a problem at all. Also, I would advise people to park at the nearby square and move their stuff rather than trying to park outside the property, as the road outside it is very very narrow and just fit our rental car - backing out of it was a bit of a problem. Overall, we had a great stay at Palazzo d'Acqua and would highly recommend it to anyone.
