Town: Popular with nature lovers, ramblers, equine enthusiasts or those who just enjoy relaxing in bucolic bliss, Plaish and nearby Cardington offers a quiet haven to get away from it all and enjoy a quintessentially English rural break. The larger market towns in the area offer an urban distraction for those who fancy a break from all that peace and quiet, while other attractions in the area include Severn Valley Steam Railway, Action Scott Historic Working Farm, Stokesay Castle and Ironbridge. Fans of the esoteric arts should note: Cardington was owned by the Knights Templar until 1308. Additional amenities include: ping pong table, game room, cooker.  …see more

The Granary is located just 6 miles from Church Stretton and was originally a barn used as part of a working farm. It has been tastefully converted to offer accommodation for up to 5 people. Much of the barn's original charm has been retained through features such as exposed beams and a wood-burning stove. The hallway sports an oak staircase and leads to the dining area up a set of original stone steps. For romantic couples, there is a four-poster bed and, for larger groups, there is shared use of a games room with its own snooker table. Outside the Granary is a small garden which lends itself to al fresco dining in the summer months. Amenities: Oil central heating with woodburner. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, TV with digital box, DVD, radio/CD player, WiFi. Fuel, power & initial supply of wood for woodburner inc. in rent. Shared use of washing machine and tumble dryer. Bed linen inc. in rent. Travel cot & highchair on request. 6'x 3' snooker table on gallery. Small front patio and small rear walled area with garden furniture. Shared use of games barn, with snooker table, table tennis, badminton, cricket, football net & 14' netted trampoline. Ample off road parking. One small well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 1 mile. Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England. Town: This huge hill is topped by a moorland plateau of heather and rocks and broken on the eastern side by a series of hollows or "batches". This is a popular walking area - ideal for exploring the Shropshire Hills. Church Stretton is the first town in Shropshire to receive Walkers Welcome status. Walkers Welcome towns are places which have something special to offer for walkers more than simply being a fantastic place to come an enjoy the great outdoors. The town also holds its own annual Walking Festival in June. In the Carding Mill Valley, there is a thriving antiques centre with over 60 stalls. This is open every day and nearby Acton Scott Historic Farm will give you a taste of 19th Century farming. There are attractions to suit every age and taste in this region, from the Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom to the historic Dudmaston Hall. Additional amenities include: game room, cooker.  …see more

This ground floor barn conversion, pet friendly cottage on a working farm sleeps 4 people and can be found in the village of Stapleton near Church Stretton in Shropshire. Within driving distance are the historic towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow. The Old Dairy, as its name suggests, was originally built as part of a dairy house. It has been sympathetically restored to offer accommodation for 4 people, retaining much of its original character through features such as exposed beams and the original cattle stall, which now partitions the lounge from the dining room. The accommodation is arranged across one level and the property has a rear patio, from which to enjoy a spot of outdoor-dining. Visitors also get shared use of a games room, which includes a snooker table and a netted trampoline. There is plenty of parking and the local amenities are merely a stroll away. Amenities: Storage heaters with woodburner in sitting room. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, TV with digital box, DVD, radio/CD, WiFi. Shared use of washing machine and tumble dryer. Fuel, power & initial supply of wood for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Cot & highchair on request. Shared use of covered games barn with snooker table, table tennis, badminton, cricket, football net & 14' netted trampoline. Front patio with furniture, small rear walled patio with furniture. Ample off road parking. Sorry, no smoking. 1 small, well-behaved dog welcome by arrangement. Shop and pub 1 mile. Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England. Town: Church Stretton's glorious setting in a narrow valley earned it the name 'Little Switzerland' from the Victorians who tried to establish it as a spa. It has some of the most dramatic and spectacular hills in the British Isles; Long Mynd guards the West and the escarpment of Wenlock Edge lies to the East. Caer Caradoc, formed by volcanic ash and lava over 560 million years ago, once had an Iron Age hill-fort on its summit. The geology of the area is intriguing and has earned the hills acclaim as a Site of Special Scientific Interest as well as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ragleth Hill allows you to take in stunning 360 degree views, taking in the Long Mynd, Caer Caradoc, the Lawley, Wenlock Edge and the Clee Hills. Church Stretton also draws visitors for its famous 18-hole golf course, which claims to be the highest in England. Additional amenities include: ping pong table, game room, cooker.  …see more
