Fabulous place to stay

The location of this little house is perfect - easy walk to a fantastic beach and a short stroll to the market and restaurants. We loved it here: walked miles every morning, swam in the sea (18 degrees) every afternoon, finishing with a cool drink at the beach bar. The house has everything you need, little courtyard garden for eating outside, well-equipped kitchen, and very comfortable bed. We were very sorry not to have booked two weeks and were sad to leave. The Ile de Re is a very pretty island with wild flowers everywhere, beautiful villages and great beaches . Le Bois Plage probably has the best beaches and anyone staying here this summer is extremely lucky ! … see more
Gîte of La Prévotière
Fantastic month in France

We rented the gite for the whole month of June. It was wonderful. The property has been beautifully renovated and was very clean. The family who own the gite are lovely and friendly. Their parents live next door and were so welcoming and helpful. They even kindly fixed up some bicycles for us to use for the month. The gite is situated on a vineyard that produces their own pinneau (a type of drink of the region that is a blend of grape juice and cognac- theirs is especially delicious! - they gifted a bottle on our arrival and we ended up buying a few bottles from them). The pool was great and the perfect respite from the hot weather we had. The terrace area was perfect and well kitted out for BBQs and lounging. Beautifully presented and nice and private. It's maybe 20metres away from the house, no issue really. The kitchen is well equipped and the house comfortably furnished. Just don't forget to pack towels, just about the only thing they don't provide. Everything else is great and the bedsheets were super soft. They provide hairdryers and fans. There's also a small TV that you can watch your Netflix on. The garden has great furniture for you to use, deck chairs, outdoor table and chairs, sun loungers and parasols etc. Everything you could need. The location of the property is a great base to explore the region. With lots of market towns open on different days nearby. We drove to and visited many beautiful towns e.g. Blaye, Talmont, Royan, Saintes, Pons. A little further away was Bordeaux and La Rochelle, both worth a visit. With many more that we ran out of time to visit. There are so many beautiful vineyards and châteaus nearby e.g. Chateau Beaulon with stunning grounds is only around a 15 min drive away. Mirambeau is a short 7 min drive away with a big hypermache called Super U to pick up all your food shopping, there's also a petrol station there, vet, pharmacy, tabac, local pizzeria and boulangerie. You can cycle there in around 20 mins. The vet was great as we needed to get our travel documents signed off to say that my parents' dog had received his tapeworm tablet before re-entering the UK. This was our 5 th trip to La Flotte but our 1st at La Petite Rose Trémière. Although the house is about 15mins walk into the centre of the village it did not disappoint. It was very clean and well equipped. There is a car park space and also room for bikes. The correspondence from Eric was very good and we found him to be always on time and very helpful. We would highly recommend this accommodation and would definitely consider a return visit. … see more

Nice a peaceful stay

The photos do not do it justice, it’s a lovely house and so peaceful, we had a great stay. The pool and garden area was great, many an hour spent in the pool. There are plenty of outside seating areas, both front and back of the house so you can be in the sun or shade, plus plenty of umbrellas if you want to keep out of the sun. The house is a great base to access multiple activities around the area, plenty of lovely restaurants a short drive away, the kitchen is perfect and well stocked if you want to cook at the house. Comfortable, quiet, helpful owner, private parking, and good for visiting the town.

This is a comfortable, spacious apartment for two. The facilities are good. The owner supplies a lot of provisions, communicates well and is helpful. It was quiet. It is good to find somewhere with a parking space that is also close to town. There is a pleasant walk along the sea front and through a park to the town centre. If you can cycle, Elisabeth provides bikes which are convenient for visiting town. It has a large balcony with open space with trees and other apartments around it and from which you can see the sea though it's not a panoramic view. All in all a very good place to stay. … see more

We stayed in La bergerie for 8 days in March and it was a truly lovely experience. A very comfortable space, beautifully presented - and one of the best equipped kitchens I've come across in a holiday let! Catherine was so helpful and available to answer any questions.
