“A peaceful getaway in a stunning location with genuine hospitali” We stayed in Strathisla guest house for four relaxing days. As a family of five we greatly enjoyed the extensive garden and peaceful location. The guest house is located in the Sri Lankan montane rain forest, with amazing views and some great wildlife on show. We enjoyed walking to the local Buddhist temple, through tea plantations and around the rain forest when we weren't enjoying the colonial style swimming pool or some of Priya's amazing food. As for the service we felt instantly welcomed by the owner, Peter who not only looked after us but also shared interesting stories of the development of his guest house as well as life in the local area. The hospitality was added to by the manager Jko and his wife Priya, who cooked some of the best food we tasted in Sri Lanka as well as escorting us on walks in the local area. This place is a perfect stop for anyone travelling Sri Lanka, wanting to see the rainforests and the plantations from a secluded setting. We would reccomemd it to anyone!
