Villa to Km 9 from Cefalu
Best property we rented in Italy so far, would recommend it

Salvatore, the owner, is a very friendly and welcoming man. He waited for us where and when we agreed, a few minutes from the property. After showing us around he kindly showed me where the well stocked supermarket, the trainstation (for easy trains to Palermo) and the restaurants at the beach were (he recommended one for fresh fish - we ate there a few times - pizzas were also good) . When he noticed the ball available at the mini football field near the house was flat, he brought one from his house for our boys. The house is spacious and the kitchen well equiped. There is a walk in cupboard in the masterbedroom which is handy for your lugage. The terass around teh house is spacious and shaded. The garden well kept. We moved the table in the morning so we could have breakfast in the sun in the morning. Moved it a few meters and were in the shade for lunch. The beach is only 100 m from the house. We had a great time, thanks to the weather, the friendlines of the sicilians but also thanks to the owners hospitality. The area was quite, we saw a common swimmingpool on the estate but that was still covered seen the time of the year. The village is near the motorway junction Palermo /Messina / Catania / so ideal to visit Cefalu, Palermo, Monreale, Villa Roma del Casale, Etna... Garden is closed off, so ideal for children. Villa to 9 Km from Cefalù
Brilliant!

We stayed here for 8 (very hot) days. Salvatore and Ensa met us as arranged at a nearby location. They were both very welcoming and friendly and despite our lack of Italian and their lack of English we managed to converse rather well using our son's poor French and our daughter's slightly better Spanish. Salvatore was very patient. They showed us all around the villa and explained everything and even helped us out with water. They were very helpful in suggesting where to shop and also recommending a local restaurant. The villa was spotlessly clean and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed using the outdoor kitchen area with BBQ. The outdoor shower was very well used at all times of the day. The location is excellent in a gated residential area so very private with easy access (100m) to the beach which has coarse sand. It was nice to be away form the rows of sunbeds and parasols. Salvatore arranged for us to have passes to use the swimming pool in the next community but we swam in the sea every day. When we had a minor problem with the a/c and toilet Salvatore arrived to sort them out within 30 mins of our text. Nothing was too much trouble. A car is essential but there are several supermarkets within a short drive giving plenty of options for self-catering. Campofelice di Rocella town is beautiful with two amazing gelateria. Cefalu is also very easy to access. The town of Castelbuono is about an hours drive but worth the trip. We decided to go on the spur of the moment but happened to choose the night when the whole town were out to celebrate a religious festival. We also travelled through the mountains to Taormina, (about 4 hours), a place that had been recommended to us for our holiday. We were all really glad we weren't staying there and only stayed for a couple of hours before returning to the peace and tranquility of Campolfelice this time using the easily accessed Autostrada. All in all a fantastic villa in a great location with superb hosts if you like to be immersed in the true Italian culture. We didn't meet any other tourists during our stay which is just how we like it. … see more
