“A truly outstanding villa” It was our first trip to Madeira and after this experience it won't be our last. This villa is simply the best villa we have ever stayed in and we've been to a few!! Our flight was about an hour early so we subsequently we arrived at the villa early. Solanda and Nelson were very accommodating bearing in mind they were in the middle of getting the villa ready for our arrival. The villa is stunning. It has everything you could wish for. Everything is finished to a high standard and it makes you feel extremely lucky. The grounds are beautiful and have a fantastic selection of herbs. A major highlight for us was the view. Nothing more to say than WOW! Calheta has everything you could possibly need and we didn't venture too far from there other than a visit to Funchal, which is a must. A beautiful capital city. We also did the whale and dolphin trip with Lobosanda. It was lovely and we saw bottlenose dolphins, common dolphins and pilot whales. A nice trip especially if you have children. We went to a lot of the restaurants recommended by Amanda and Noel. We weren't disappointed. Calheta is certainly good if you enjoy fish as a lot is caught in the morning and served to you at lunch or in the evening. The supermarket also has a fantastic selection of fish, which changes on a daily basis. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and we have made some special memories. We will definitely be back. Thank you for everything Amanda, Noel, Solanda, Nelson and Paul. Oh and we mustn't forget Zulu and Zomba. We missed our black Labrador so it was lovely to get our fix from them.

“Everything you could want in a villa rental” All of the villa facilities we expected were provided and in good working order and the setting is lovely, it was certainly bigger than imagined and the furnishings are lovely. The master bed is incredibly comfortable The pool table and games console were an added bonus for keeping our son entertained. From the time of booking prompt and clear communication put us at ease before our holiday . We were met in Calheta by a lovely English lady called Rose,she showed us to the villa which was great as it would have been tricky to find it on our own but once we knew the way we had no problems. She also ran through where everything was in the villa & how everything worked. We loved Madeira, it is so beautiful and we managed to walk every day and see some fantastic scenery. The location of Calheta is great, the resort is small but has everything you need. Also we found for walking that the villa is ideally situated as it is only 10 minutes from Ribiera Brava and the tunnels that allows fast travel between north and south. However when the cloud from the north was spilling down the ribiera brava gorge and into that resort, a few miles away Calheta remained in sunshine, its certainly an island of micro climates. Calheta is also one of the few places on Madeira that has a sandy beach. We definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa to another family as we had a lovely time.
