Good manners As reassuring as a firm handshake, Hillfield Court is a quietly sophisticated home. There’s a masculine heft to the leather sofa and the glass dining table, tempered with an Asian delicacy – spot the glowing copper goblets and the tea ceremony equipment in the kitchen. This home’s gentle air of knowledge and class is replicated beyond the front door, for Hampstead draws intellectuals from all across London. Walk upon the heath, investigate the bookshops of Hampstead village, and sample the restaurants that cluster around Belsize Park station. Hillfield Court whispers its splendid location and excellent taste - this is home for those in the know. Inquiring mind Your American host came to London for a brief stint of work, and somehow ended up staying on for over forty years. He studied in Boston and New York, and retirement has only encouraged his curiosity. He has a strong interest in all things Oriental, so much so that he’s even learning Mandarin. Cordial welcome While this home enjoys all the comforts of post-war construction – warmth, soundproofing and a delightful absence of creaks, you are, nonetheless in venerable Hampstead. Walk down a tree-lined avenue and through mature communal gardens to reach Hillfield Court. Once inside you’ll be struck by the sitting room’s full height windows, opening out onto a balcony with views onto green, green leaves. The kitchen is compact and well-equipped, with a brand new oven and space for two to dine, perfect for an intimate breakfast. The grey and white bathroom has a walk-in shower, while next door, the bedroom is painted a delicate pale blue. If you’ve work to do, then you’ll find a useful desk set up in the window. Otherwise, open the doors onto the balcony, or just lie in bed upon our crisp white sheets and admire the infinitely serene Chinese art. Well connected If you ache for a little birdsong then a romp upon Hampstead Heath comes warmly recommended, here you can swim, picnic and fly a kite on Parliament Hill. Eat out in the cafes and restaurants of both Hampstead village and Belsize Park, or head into town. The tube from Belsize Park to Leicester Square takes less than fifteen minutes. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, hob (electric), communal garden, communications/internet, entertainment.  …see more

This is a wonderful family apartment, spread over two floors with 3 bedrooms (and nursery). The stunning leafy neighbourhood of Belsize Park is one of London's nicest with Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill nearby a welcoming contrast to the bustling City centre. However reaching Central London couldnt be easier as Belsize Park underground station sits right on your doorstep. Upon entering the apartments main hall you will find, to the left, a raised living area with sweeping wooden floors and an attractive, patterned feature wall. One of its walls is dedicated to an array of books and DVDs which guests are free to enjoy on the flat-screen TV (which has surround sound) whilst snuggled up on the bold L-shaped sofa. Towards the right is a sizable open-plan kitchen and dining area which overlooks the back patio garden. The kitchen has all-white handle-less cabinetry with modern facilities which include an American-style fridge with ice dispenser, built-in coffee machine and double oven. The 8-seater dining space is bathed in natural light coming through the stained glass of the patio doors which open onto a raised grassy garden. On a warm summers day, children will love playing out in the open whilst you enjoy sitting on the deck with a drink! For convenience, there is a utility room with a WC located just of the kitchen to the left. The lower level of the apartment holds an elegant master suite which is delightfully finished with flamingo-patterned wallpaper in a soft blue shade. Its generous super-king sized bed has flanking wardrobes and faces a wall-mounted TV for guests to enjoy. The en suite is equally as modern with both a separate walk-in shower enclosure and a full-sized bathtub. At the end of a small corridor is a lovely nursery room which provides a quiet space for small child. There is a shared bathroom installed with a power shower, and a bedroom located adjacent to the master, with a bunk bed (2 single beds) perhaps ideal for two children or teenagers. The final bedroom is complete with a double sofa-bed and its own en suite bathroom with a full-size tub and overhead shower. Due to its village-like atmosphere and leafy feel, Belsize Park is a popular location for families. Belsize Village is a 5 minute walk from the property where you will find numerous cafes, restaurants, deli, salon and other local amenities. Haverstock Hill is a few minutes walk from you with convenient shops, cafs and some larger family-style restaurants. The C11 bus runs regularly along the Hill and will take you to the stunning greenery of Hampstead Heath for its rambling hills and ponds, where one can enjoy a picnic on a fine day and the magnificent City views from the high hill-tops! The Northern line from Belsize Park station, will take you to Tottenham Court Road in the West End for the wonderful shopping, as well as Leicester Square, the home of movie premiers and excellent theatres! Additional amenities include: - ironing board, entertainment, - wifi internet, - sofa bed double, - bedrooms, access, - dishwasher, - double sofa, - plates and cutlery, - bathrooms, - books, - wooden floors, - iron, - washing machine, - freezer, - normal TV, utilities, - hob, - super king size, - square feet, - garden, - microwave, - fridge, - coffee maker, unique features, outdoor space, - single, - open-plan, - sleeps, - toaster, - blender/juicer, - glasses, - children welcome, - kettle, - oven.  …see more

Graceland Belsize Park certainly lives up to its name, which derives from the French for ‘well situated’. Flanked by fashionable Primrose Hill and Hampstead, and near to London’s most graceful parks, these hushed, tree lined Victorian streets belie the handy proximity of town. Navigate your way past iron railings, red phone boxes, and grand entrances to a smart four bedroom period home that evokes a bygone age of graceful serenity. Upon entering, a strikingly contemporary interior will instantly transport you to the 21st century. Themed with bright colours and bounty from the hosts’ many travels, every room is like a fresh adventure. So, catch the trade winds in your sails and enjoy the ride. Kings of the Road Your hosts are international professionals whose highflying careers have taken them across four continents. Their second home is in Israel, their country of origin, and keeps them connected to their roots. While onefinestay guests are enjoying their house, they too delight in seeing the world via the ‘unhotel’ route, in the similarly stylish homes of others. The World at Large In the spacious dining and kitchen area, an ornate Balinese mirror reflects the light that pours in from two large windows. Walls in accents of deepest blue and green hint at elements of sea and sky, complemented by the orange flames that flicker within the clean lines of a contemporary hearth. The cubist forms and russet shades of a huge oil painting in the sitting room find their echo in a woven cowhide rug on dark floorboards, and Oriental furniture hints at Eastern promise. Upstairs, a pristine room for a girl and a boy’s handsome hideout will impress your little adventurers. As for you, a nightcap on the roof terrace overlooking nearby gardens and houses is sure to expand your horizons. Then, after you’ve soaked those tired limbs in the lavish bathroom, it’s plain sailing all the way to the land of Nod, in a vast, outrageously comfortable wooden bed. Road Tripping Get your victuals in the local pubs and restaurants, or hit the highway to nearby Primrose Hill and Hampstead for an abundance of upscale bars, cafes and boutiques. If you’re hankering after a bigger expanse, then Regents Park and the wilds of Hampstead Heath are both close by. Or change tack and sail boldly to the eye of the storm, with the West End and Oxford Street only a fifteen-minute tube ride away. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, hob (gas), entertainment, communications/internet, washer / dryer.  …see more

This is an absolutely breath-taking studio home in Hampstead, North London. Within walking distance there is Belsize Park tube station, served by the Northern Line which will have you in central London (Tottenham Court Road) within twenty minutes. Close by is the wonderful open space that is Hampstead Heath which is a perfect place for leisurely strolls. It is also a woodland reserve; teeming with wildlife as well as boasting some breath-taking stretches of water. Situated a short distance away is Haverstock Hill, a high-street teeming with restaurants and bar to suit every fancy. This is also the proud home to the Everyman Cinema (Belsize Park)- a luxury single screen cinema with leather seats and a wide selection of both mainstream and art-house films on show in case of a rainy day! The property itself could not be more stunning. Upon entry you are greeted with a large, double-height studio space with white wood ceiling panels, white beams and lots of glass. To your right there is a stylish feature fire-place and a chimney breast covered in exotic brown-red tiles. Straight ahead is the living area. This has two vibrant, squashy red sofas and interesting pictures as well as a very large wall-mounted flat-screen TV. This would be a perfect spot to snuggle up with a glass of wine after dinner and watch a film or just generally chill out. To the right of the living area, running along the wall, is the sleek kitchen. This has white cabinets and an in-built oven as well as all mod-cons including toaster, kettle etc. There is a large glass panel running the length of the kitchen area, allowing in plenty of sun-light in the day and (weather permitting) some moonlight in the evenings! Beyond the living area is a bright dining area with a sleek glass-top table that seats four but can be extended outwards. There is also no shortage of light in this area as there are glass skylights and large floor-to-ceiling glass doors. Through these doors is an intimate and leafy patio area. This feels very private due to the high walls with ivy growing up them and the trees surrounding it. There are two chairs and low-level spot-lighting that would light the area up beautifully in the evening. Back in the house and up the stairs you reach the mezzanine level with the bedroom and bathroom. Here there is a large double bed and a low bedside table. Opposite the sleeping area is a door to the bathroom which is finished in neutral tiles and has a sink, toilet and a large corner bath which would be perfect for a luxurious soak. Easily one of the nicest parts of the house is the area just beyond the bed. Here there is what could be called a sun-room, where there is space for a single mattress for a child; this area currently has a chest of draws, a recliner chair and plenty of light coming in from large glass doors and sky-lights. Through these doors is a large balcony area that overlooks the lovely garden. A mere two stops from Belsize Park is Camden town station and the buzzing area of Camden itself. Consider it done Undoubtedly London’s intellectual hotspot, Hampstead draws the capital’s great thinkers, and keeps them occupied with its cobbled streets, cosy pubs, and some of the city’s best and most original shops. And, midway between the hallowed meadows of Hampstead Heath and Regent’s Park, is Belsize Lane, a Victorian home of great distinction and class. Inside, the look is boho-modern, a fifties filing cabinet sits alongside a contemporary fireplace, while the handwoven rug carries echoes of both Mondrian and Rothko. Browse the shelves of Daunt Books for something to read over brunch in one of Belsize Park’s snazzy cafes, and when your bloody Mary’s gone, head to nearby Hampstead Village for designer boutiques, coffee and cake. And be sure to strike up a conversation with the next table if you can – in this part of town, everyone has a story. Woman in mind After a prosperous career in real estate, urban regeneration and placemaking your hostess now leads a life of retirement between Belsize Lane and her country residence. A community-minded sort, she holds a number of public positions, and enjoys singing, cooking, and the Arts. Think about it The open-plan living space is just the spot for some quiet contemplation, so stretch out on that scarlet leather couch above the oak floor and let the fire’s flickering flames calm your whirring thoughts. Eight can be seated upon the dining table’s riotously mismatched chairs, and, as you’d expect from such a keen chef, the kitchen’s smart and well-equipped. And there’s a peaceful atmosphere to the three bedrooms, where pale walls, rustic furniture and floral fabrics work in harmony to give you a deep and delicious night’s sleep. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, nespresso coffee machine, washer / dryer, entertainment, hob (gas), underfloor heating, breakfast bar, off-road parking, communications/internet.  …see more

A devoted pair, they divide their time between London and their second home in France, which they rent out as a holiday home. Its name is reputed to derive from the French bel assis or well-seatedThe inhabitants of Belsize Park are never more than a couple of minutes away from a cappuccino. There are shops, cafs and restaurants on Haverstock Hill near Belsize Park Tube station. There are more shops along Englands Lane, where there is a popular butchers, Barretts, and in Belsize village on Belsize Lane. Some enchanted evening Once the haunt of London’s artists and writers, Hampstead now combines its literary leanings with an air of establishment, this is where the city’s success stories come to put down their roots. Bookshops, boutiques, winding alleyways and, of course, the wonderful expanses of the heath call out to those whose affluent present has not entirely eclipsed a more eccentric past. And so it is with Lancaster Grove. Original features mix with the contemporary. From the cornicing to the grand windows, the jaw-dropping bespoke dining table to the architect-designed glass floor, Lancaster Grove is destined to linger in your memories for years to come. Magic Circle Your host is a businessman with a special passion for theatre, while your hostess manages a portfolio of careers, including work as a psychotherapist, artist, and in conflict resolution. Not that there’ll be any conflicts to resolve at Lancaster Grove, except, perhaps, who gets to nab the master suite... Razzle dazzle ‘em There’s an atmosphere of pure wonder about Lancaster Grove. Perhaps it’s the glitter that rains softly from the chandeliers, the way the light gleams from the polished chrome, or maybe it’s the colour palette, with its hues of gentle twilight; we know you’ll feel it too. Downstairs, the exceptionally large open plan living space features a winding metal dining table, seating a comfortable twelve, and a glossy blue Aga. Art and sculptures sit all around, while, next door, the TV room, with its cosy sofas and garden views, is invitingly intimate. With its writing desk and extensive library, the study is more traditional in tone, and outside, the clever garden seems to have been designed with parties very much in mind. Up on the first floor, the elegant drawing room stretches the length of the house; here you’ll delight in the designer furniture, original fireplace and some funky antiques. Next door, the master suite features a king sized bed and a restful en suite, with antique furniture and a decadent roll top bath. Up again and you’ll find four further bedrooms, three doubles, one with an en suite, and a single, alongside a comfortable family bathroom. Intellectual endeavours Whether you’re hobnobbing with your neighbours, spotting blue plaques or browsing the bookshops, Hampstead has plenty to keep your mind occupied. You’ve some of the city’s finest restaurants and gastropubs close by, or, drop into one of your many local delis and fix a picnic to take to Hampstead Heath. And if you need to drop into town, hop onto the tube at nearby Belsize Park. You can be at Leicester Square in under twenty minutes. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, breakfast bar, communications/internet, entertainment, hob (electric).  …see more

What it’s all about Heath Hurst Road speaks of lives lived to the full. There’s a warmth to the cosy rooms, filled with a precious cargo of souvenirs, curios and art, and furniture bearing the caresses of generations. Books are everywhere, and the walls jostle with photographs. You’re just steps from the ancient turf of Hampstead Heath, an Eden in the city, with its bathing ponds and wild woods. Fly a kite, chase a puppy, or visit nearby Hampstead village. The playground of London’s intellectual elite, these cobbled streets house cafes and bookshops alongside glamorous restaurants and designer boutiques. So read, romp and rest - this is what memories are made of. Family values Your hosts are a creative family, about to wave their daughter off to university. He’s a keen cyclist, and all three love to travel. Healthy, wealthy and wise To say this home has personality would be something of an understatement. The study’s stuffed with well-thumbed tomes, the country kitchen’s clearly the haunt of a keen chef, and in every room, you’ll find furniture that’s as intriguing as it is beautiful. The ground floor reception room is simple and polished, here too, you’ll find a dining table beneath a bright chandelier. There’s a snug sitting room up on the first floor, and you can entertain yourselves either with cable TV or around the piano. There are two bedrooms, a pretty single and a glamorous master, with antique furniture and even a dressing room. And outside, you’ve a tangled patio garden, with trailing foliage and sweetly scented herbs. Looking ahead For all its close proximity to the West End, there’s a sense that Hampstead is a little apart from the rest of London. An island of fresh air and studied bohemianism, think well-worn velvet and freshly baked cakes. You’re close to Hampstead Heath, while Hampstead village is full of gorgeous shops and restaurants. Curl up by the fire in your local pub, or go into town. The tube from Hampstead to Leicester Square takes around seventeen minutes. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, hob (gas), communications/internet, entertainment.  …see more

Toy story With 18 Grade II listed properties on the high street alone, Hampstead Heath is a visual feast. Each of its narrow, hilly streets is lined with beautiful cottages and redbrick mansion townhouses. A distinctly European café-culture rubs shoulders with some of London’s best traditional pubs, and the independent clothing boutiques are all-too-tempting. Wander up to the Holly Bush, which oozes quintessential country charm and fine gastro fare (and happens to reside on the cobbled street made famous by a certain Naked Chef). Then, once you’re all tuckered out, retreat to Tanza Road, where three beautifully decorated bedrooms and two bathrooms await. Forever young Your hosts are a Swedish editor and a successful entrepreneur from Ohio. They moved to London in 2000, and fell utterly in love with life on the heath. When they’re not entertaining their five kids, they love practicing yoga, or paying homage to Epicurus in the myriad fine eateries on their doorstep. Child’s play Tiptoe into the sitting room and let your socks slide on the characterful parquet flooring, over to the striking, angular sofas. Admire the well-stocked bookshelves and flat screen TV while your head rests on a block colour cushion, or curl up with a book on a purple armchair, bathed in the light of the large bay window. Rustle something up for supper across the hallway in the calming kitchen, with its subtle green colour palate, then gather around the six-seater dining table to eat it. Or if you fancy some dappled sunlight on your skin, you could always dine in the conservatory, or outside on the patio. For some after dinner relaxation, get weepy over your favourite film in the snug-come-study, with its enviable film library and a slumber-inducing corner sofa. Or head upstairs, where two children’s bunk bedrooms – one double and one triple – boast everything required to build your very own fortress. Loft bunks create an irresistible sense of adventure, while shelves upon shelves of books will keep your kids’ imaginations going. Over in the master bedroom, things get much more grown-up, as a super king-sized bed lies before a draped bay window and an impressive chandelier, and an ensuite shower room is well stocked with out White Company goodies. Never never land Known for its liberal, artistic and intellectual associations, Hampstead pulses with Bohemian energy. There are beautiful churches, period cinemas, and the Freud and Keats Museums to explore, plus a wealth of antiques shops and artisanal delicatessens. Kids, meanwhile, will enjoy the Heath’s adventure playground, and the nearby Kentish Town City Farm. Get all this within 20 minutes of central London, which can be easily reached via the nearby Hampstead Heath overground station. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, communications/internet, entertainment, hob (gas) (2), oven (2).  …see more

Tempus fugit Must every golden age turn sepia with time? Perhaps not. A townhouse from the annals of elegance, Buckland Crescent II is very beautiful indeed. From the Wedgwood china to the carved Spanish chest, its treasures glow with the richness of age. The bedroom’s Sheraton armchairs are finely formed, while the balcony speaks of boater hats, clinging gowns and long Edwardian summers. So do as your forebears did and lounge with claret and hardback in hand, or discover the ageless charms of Hampstead’s restaurants, boutiques and tea rooms. Past times Your hostess is on an extended gap year and loves London’s old-fashioned pleasures best. She never tires of the theatre, afternoon strolls or shopping on St John’s Wood High Street. Put back the clocks If you cherish fine china, period furniture and Edwardian elegance, would it please you to step this way? Whether you turn to the sofas with a book, the balcony with a jug of lemonade or the gilt-framed artwork with a glowing expression, this home’s pleasures are many. We think you’ll love the bathroom’s picture-book porcelain, while the Philippe Starck dining chairs are as contemporary as the stemware collection is quaint. And when today turns into yesterday, you’ll be grateful for the hushed bedrooms and their handsome shutters. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, hob (gas), entertainment, communications/internet, washer / dryer.  …see more

You must see this There’s so much going on in Courthope Road, you’ll barely be able to take it all in. The panorama includes a rooftop terrace, a library and a sunny office – all incredibly photogenic. Of course, it helps that this home’s bone structure is so strong, with high, corniced ceilings, Victorian fireplaces and sash windows. Add original art, acres of space and a tremendous attention to detail, and you’ll be running out of room on your memory card… but save a few frames for Hampstead Heath, just at the end of the road. And of course, Hampstead Village is gorgeous too, all winding alleyways and rambling roses. For once, you really can believe your eyes. On camera Your hosts are a photographer and a TV producer, hailing from Scotland and Germany. They love Courthope Road’s proximity to the heath, and they’re regulars in a number of their local restaurants. Say cheese The ground floor follows that of a traditional London home, with a wide, serene sitting room opening out into a spacious dining room, its honey wood table seating eight. The space is warm and lofty, with windows looking out into the patio garden and some exceptional artwork – that family lunch will stretch into dinner and beyond. Just as well, then, that the kitchen’s so smart and so well equipped, with every appliance you could possibly need stowed in those sleek units. The little ones will love the garden’s piscine guardians, and their nursery, which is filled with books and toys. For grownups, there’s the spectacular split-level master bedroom. Shut the door and you’re in your own world, with an ensuite bathroom, a walk-in wardrobe, a library and a white-walled office that resembles an artist’s studio. Open the doors out onto the balcony and survey your kingdom – there never was a more satisfying view. Location shoot Hampstead Heath is a playground for young and old, seven hundred and ninety acres of woods and fields, bathing ponds and cafes. Fashionable Belsize Park has a terrific selection of bars and restaurants, and Hampstead Village’s cobbled streets mingle designer boutiques and artisan grocers. And the tube from Belsize Park to Leicester Square takes only fifteen minutes Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, breakfast bar, hob (gas), communications/internet, entertainment.  …see more

The way we live now History and Hampstead. The two go together like horses and carriages, top hats and tails, gentlemen’s gentlemen and silver salvers. Here, along a lovely late-Victorian street, is a home to bring high satisfaction to any history buff. For Eton Avenue II possesses an elegance which echoes down long years. The sitting room alone spans centuries, with its period paintings, miniature cannon and suit of armour. Take a turn around the ornamental oasis of a garden, be summoned to supper in the art-adorned dining room, or hail a hansom into town. Whether it’s Primrose Hill or Piccadilly Circus, you’ll be there in a matter of minutes. Golden age Your hosts may love their history, but they live very much in the present. One is a retired dentist turned tour guide, and the other a teacher of English to foreign students. When they’re not at the gym or the theatre, you’ll find them roaming the world, from Israel to Spain. Memory lane All the houses on Eton Avenue were built between 1895 and 1900, and vary each in appearance. But that’s not the only way in which this home is unique. Masterful paintings, miniature cannons and gilded mirrors are just some of many artefacts to be discovered in the sitting room. Cast an absorbed eye across ornate vases, trophies and history tomes. The dining room lets you feast on artwork and fine furniture, while the kitchen brings you bang up to the twenty-first century. Sunlight glances off its ocean blue splashback and breakfast bar chairs, while each surface has a brand-new gleam. The garden offers a barbecue and seriously elegant stone fountain, encircled with slate pebbles. You’ve a modern, mirrored master bedroom with a desk for history scholars to get scribbling. The upscale bathroom has room for artwork as well as our White Company toiletries, while upstairs is a bright double bedroom and another up-to-date ensuite shower room. One thing after another Primrose Hill has long been home to London’s historical VIPs, including W.B. Yeats and Friedrich Engels. Nowadays you might spot Alan Bennett or Ewan McGregor in a bookshop or exclusive cafe. Gourmets will love the Swiss Cottage farmer’s market, conveniently close by, while the rugged acres of Hampstead Heath are perfect for rambling off any overindulgence. The tube from Swiss Cottage to Oxford Circus takes a mere twelve minutes. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, nespresso coffee machine, entertainment, washer / dryer, breakfast bar, communications/internet, hob (induction).  …see more

Located right on the cusp of the infamous Hampstead Heath (an ancient London park with fabulous views across the city) in the popular North West London borough of Hampstead, this property is a spacious destination for a family visiting the city. The property is located on a residential street with period architecture lining the pavement on either side. On entry into the hallway you are met by a map of the Tube line in this part of London incredibly useful for finding your way around and a quirky taste of whats to come! An original glass-panelled Church door will then lead you inside where a marvellous living room awaits with its cerulean blue walls, pink carpet in the sitting area and not a wall left bare of hand-made art work. There are two marble fireplaces, one of which is surmounted by a striking deconstructed piano an extraordinary sight and not something you will see everyday. The sitting area by the bay windows consists of stylish leather sofas and a flat screen TV with an impressive DVD collection. Towards the opposite end is a dining area, which houses an extensive book and music collection. The adjoining eat-in kitchen has a country feel decorated in coral pink and lemon yellow, with a 6-seater dining area set under skylights, alongside a large glass cabinet filled with antique clocks of all shapes and sizes. The open-plan kitchen is fabulously kitschy with a pop-art theme and powder blue cabinets. It is fully equipped with modern facilities which include a double oven, grill, dishwasher, washing machine, and a separate under-counter fridge and freezer. There is patio door access to a charming outdoor space lined with exotic plants, where guests can enjoy al fresco dining in the warmer months. The colourful first floor of the house has a coral corridor, two bedrooms and the shared family bathroom, which has a step-in shower enclosure. Positioned at the rear is a large bedroom with a purple and grey colour scheme and skylights which flood the room with natural light. It has a pull-out double sofa bed, a corner desk for using laptops etc. and a study area. Across the corridor is a study/office room with a huge array of books and an original public-house door frame. It adjoins the master bedroom, which boasts spacious proportions, powder blue colour scheme and large windows. It is furnished with a large double bed and built-in storage space. It also has the comfort of an en suite bathroom, fitted with a full-size bath. This fabulous home is right on the southern border of Hampstead Heath where Londoners flock to in the summer months for a breath of fresh air from busy City life. The Heath boasts picturesque landscape views of Central London, a lovely lake, beautiful open grounds, open-air swimming pools, numerous play areas for children and sporting facilities. South End Road, Haverstock Hill and Highgate Road offer a large selection of restaurants and cafs. Around the corner you will find The Stag, which has a lovely beer garden and offers good food. The Little Thai is also a few minutes from the house for those seeking more exotic cuisine. The evidence It will become apparent even upon the briefest investigation that Oak Village is a very special home indeed. Fresh, subtle and undeniably feminine, this is a house with the lightness of a feather and the charm of a kiss. Think stripped wood, pearly white flagstones and original features – it was once a railway workers’ cottage, and you can still see the iron stove in the sitting room. Gospel Oak is moments from the ancient grassland of Hampstead Heath, where you can fly a kite, take a dip in the lido or simply amble for hours with just the squirrels for company. Yes, this story’s going to run and run. On the record Your young hostess is a documentary maker, whose work takes her all over the world. When she’s not behind the camera, she’s jogging on the heath, or flexing her fingers at the piano. Piece to camera There’s something about this home that puts you immediately at your ease. The décor is relaxed and elegant, pale woods and gentle colour schemes working together in lilting harmony. The eat-in kitchen is almost brand new, its splendid array of implements testament to your hostess’ passion for cooking. Doors open out onto the courtyard garden, where you can sip a glass of wine, or perhaps just pluck a bay leaf for your casserole. The sitting room is filled with a mix of antiques and stylishly modern furniture, and if you tire of the television, there’s a piano, and shelves loaded with books. Both bedrooms, a single and a double, are airy and uncluttered. And when the day is done, you may just fancy a quick shower, but if you’ve a little time to spare, sink deep into the roll-topped bath. Final cut The very second you see a glimmer of sunshine, race to Hampstead Heath for a picnic at Kenwood House, or perhaps some al fresco swimming. Down on York Rise you’ll find some of the best sandwiches in London at Tuffles Deli, and a few steps further, The Bull and Last, one of the UK’s top gastropubs. For shopping, make your way over to Hampstead Village, where designer stores sit alongside sweet cafes on cobbled streets, or, the tube from Kentish Town to Leicester Square takes less than fifteen minutes. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, hob (gas), entertainment, communications/internet, washer / dryer.  …see more

Norwegian wood Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream. Because, if you’re a Beatles fan, Carlingford Road may make you weak at the knees. The books, the artwork, even the coffee coasters flaunt the mop-topped fab foursome at their best. But this is no one-hit wonder of a home. Newly done up, all is glowingly cosy, and there’s a careful beauty in the white palette, warm greens and gentle pops of grey. Listen, and you might hear Paul McCartney’s blackbird singing in the garden; watch, and it’ll show you the way to Hampstead Heath or the quiet, cobbled lanes of Hampstead Village. Past masters Born in Canada, your host first fell in love with London in the Swinging Sixties, when Beatlemania was all the rage. Your hostess used to run a tourism business, and what she doesn’t know about the capital frankly isn’t worth knowing. Yesterday and today There’s something of the digitally remastered classic to this home. Impeccably finished, every surface glows in white, from the high ceilings to the marshmallow-soft sofas. Take a comfy seat and eye up the Beatles memorabilia, or proceed into the glossy kitchen. Accents of blue-green lend a soft, natural air – all the more so when you throw open the French doors to the garden. There’s a contemporary table for four, or, flow outside and dine à deux beneath the blinking stars. A desk and leather armchair offer their services for the readers, while, upstairs, both bedrooms are blissfully smart. The double is floral-fresh, and there’s an alluring view of the garden below. The master, meanwhile, spangles under a delicate chandelier, and has its own arty ensuite. You’ve also a shower room, tastily tiled in teal and a-brim with our White Company toiletries. She’s leaving home Hampstead Heath is the sort of green space that brings joy to the spirits. And, once you’ve crested Parliament Hill, hiked to Kenwood House or stretched out beneath a soaring old oak, some refreshment is needed. Thankfully, Hampstead Village has plenty of tearooms and eateries on hand, and there’s the intellectual nourishment of Keats House and the Freud Museum too. As for town, you can be there in a twist and shout. The tube from Hampstead to Oxford Circus takes under twenty minutes. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, underfloor heating, hob (electric), communications/internet, entertainment, washer / dryer.  …see more

Personal space Surrounded at once by the leafy parks of Primrose Hill and the grand Victorian townhouses of Hampstead, Belsize Park IV is so calm that you might forget how close the buzzing streets of central London really are. Open and airy like the Heath on a spring morning, Belsize Park IV lulls and refreshes. There’s a cosmopolitan spirit behind its Cambodian touches and minimalist manner, while the bay windows let every surface be bathed in light. Flow onto the balcony, breathe deep the garden air or introduce yourself to the boutiques, tearooms and coffee houses of Hampstead Village – because here, you’ll feel fresh enough to do it all. Float on Your hosts live in Cambodia. When in town, they think their home is the perfect pied-à-terre and we’re inclined to agree. Resting room With its high ceilings, shiny white surfaces and wide open spaces, this home has an airiness that’s rare. Stretch your legs across the sitting room’s soft carpet and nestle awhile into the speckled sofa. The windows swoop from floor to ceiling and, if you cast your eyes the same way, you’ll see the tall trees aflutter outside. A blonde wood table makes the perfect spot for lunch – especially if you’ve thrown wide the balcony doors. And just as shiny is the modern kitchen, thanks to an excellent stainless steel finish. There’s a zen-like calm to the bedroom’s white oak furniture, cloud-white palette and African-style figurines, while the bay window brings in beams of daylight. You’ve also a modern cloakroom and bathroom, both well-served by our White Company toiletries and fluffy towels. Open expanse Turn one way for the busy shops and pubs of Finchley Road, turn the other for the elegant boutiques and restaurants along Hampstead High Street. When it comes to green spaces, you’ve the grassy breezes of Regent’s Park, the rolling acres of Hampstead Heath and, for those of a sporting persuasion, Lord’s cricket ground. Lest you feel too leafy, the tube from Swiss Cottage to Oxford Circus takes a little more than five minutes. Additional amenities include: concierge, concierge service, 24 hour on call maintenance, hob (gas), communications/internet, entertainment.  …see more
