“3* prices for almost 5* accommodation.” Where to start? The web site, I had to compliment the owners early on for an excellent web site that gives you almost all the information you need. Due to the constant improvements being carried out the published brochure that we received was a little out of date but that’s understandable. Just before arrival why not book a veg and fruit delivery – ours was excellent! When booking any accommodation the published photos are usually well out of date and on arrival you often find the interior rather tired looking but not with this property, every room, every facility met or exceeded our expectations. Sadly the sauna was out of order for our stay but the pool was great and used at least once a day by the family. If you are into badminton equipment is supplied so you don’t need your own. A few comments for dog owners (and if you are not rest assured some of the accommodation is strictly pet free). Local walks are excellent but be careful on the single track road outside the complex. If you enjoy walking with a watering hole on route, turning either left or to the right on the main road will take you to a dog friendly pub, both of which serve food. According to my mate Tom Tom one is 0.7 miles and the other a little further at 0.75 miles. Of course that is fine for we owners but what do our canine friends really like? For ours it was the beaches. As far as we could see most beaches had seasonal restrictions but only for part of the area. Even in November some beach car parks were still charging but nothing extortionate and the quality of the beaches made that worthwhile. As much as we have enjoyed our pre-Christmas family get-togethers over the years we have always found somewhere new for the next gathering. Combrew Cottages will be the first destination where we all agree that it is a place that we will return to at some point in the future – what more can I say?

“Outstanding self-catering accommodation in glorious North Devon” We stayed in the Courtyard Cottage which was spotless and fresh. Everything you could wish for in a self-catering cottage - a home from home really (with more tellys in our case). Fresh eggs from Sue and John's chickens and a box of biscuits provided on arrival as a welcome. We thought it was a lovely touch. Excellent amenities within the cottage complex - lovely swimming pool (did not use) and there are bikes (and helmets) for hire if you need them. Tarka Trail is nearby and is worth a walk or bike ride. Local Sainsburys close by, which we found very handy. Try the lovely local Hockings ice cream (made in Appledore) the van was selling in their car park. Very well placed accommodation for touring the area, we were out every day (mind you, we were blessed with sunny weather). But there's lots to do, whatever the weather. John, Sue and son, John Ross, are lovely people.

“Absolutely Amazing!!!” Best holiday we have had, so homely and chilled. Beautiful cottage, a lot bigger than expected. The whole family enjoyed it. Location is perfect, nice an private but close to local amenities and places to go. Plenty to do on the farm, pool, games, room little play ground and we loved going to feed the goats and rabbits. Could not fault one thing on this holiday, absolutely fantastic. Thank you Sue for making my families holiday fabulous! See you next year xx
