“Top class Tuscany vacation” We stayed 1 week in Vico Pancellorum and it was absolutely top class! We were there whole family (6 persons), and we all had an exellent time in this beautiful home owned by Karen... the whole setup from Karen is top-class... meaning she has arranged all from the day we arrived with local friendly people who assisted us ll the way! the local restaurant is local Tuscany food at its best! We have travelled many times to Italy before on driving holiday from Denmark, and this is really a special spot... thank you again Karen for letting us stay in your beautiful autentic home in Tuscany, and also thanks to all all the nice "down to earth" people of Vico!

Casa Kennedy, Tuscan Villa with Private Pool
Best Villa Ever

Once we got over the slightly scary drive up to the villa, everything else was completely amazing. The view, the pool, the villa itself. It really was a home from home (actually better than my home!) Maria has thought of every thing you could possibly need. We are a family that love to cook, but even the fact that there were so many pots and pans and utensils amazed us. This holiday was a birthday present to myself and my grown up children, and they said to me is it everything you dreamed of? The answer was yes and more. We were perfectly placed for trips to Florence, Lucca and Pisa, but on the final day went to Lerici beach and Cinque Terre. What a wonderful week, wish we had have had the time to have 2 weeks, but will definitely be back. Thank yousee more
Casa Luciolle
Best family holidays ever!

Casa Luciolle is perfect place for family holiday, we spent there two great weeks. The house is located short drive from Bagni di Lucca - up in the mountains, there is beautiful view on the valley and green forests from the window and the garden. Very peaceful, close to nature and quiet place. There isa beautiful garden, with grapevine pergola, offering shadow were we spent most of the time enjoying astonishing views. The small village Pieve di Controni is very picturesque, easy going place. Located at the end of the mountain road, has only 12 inhabitants, old church and couple of stone houses. It is great place to stay if you are coming by car - from one side the place is quiet, calm and offers great retreat, but it is only 10 minutes drive from Bagni di Lucca where you can go to eat or visit great open air pools, it is also only one hour drive to seaside either Viareggio or Marina di Vecchiano (free access beaches), it is also good starting point for any mountain trips. It is also ca 40 minutes to Lucca and 1 hour to PISA international airport. The people in the village are very friendly and open, direct neighbours are Italian, so you get some local flavour. The house offers two bedroom (upstairs), open salon with kitchen and family bathroom (downstairs). The house is fully equipped with all leaving amenities. In our opinion the place looks live much better than on the pictures enclosed to the offer. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for place where you want to fully relax and re-energize.see more
The Olive Terrace, Bagni di Lucca
Stunning views and a true taste of Tuscany

Fully recommended. It's very far removed from a typical package holiday and it suited myself and two young children very well. The villa is surrounded by woodland and rivers making it the largest outdoor adventure playground young children could wish for. You have Florence and Pisa an hour away. Would recommend SATNAV if you're driving. The local village restaurants serve traditional Tuscan menus. Ever tried wild boar tagliatelle or deer in Tuscan sauce? Delicious. Or try the pizzas, they are addictive! The house itself has a very relaxing feel to it and is very clean. It has a huge open fire, breath taking views from the garden and comfortable beds. The kitchen area is small but adequate. The owners and very easy going and bend over backwards to make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. The spontaneous delivery of home made Tuscan biscuits was a treat! Can't wait to go back in the summer.see more
Beautiful old farm house in Tuscany,
A very special place

I'd heard a lot about Tuscany from friends and there's a certain romance about the area which intrigued me for years. La Balconata was not quite what I expected....it was so much better. Most of the scenery we see on the media consists of gently rolling hills of greenery but the area around Bagna Di Luca is much more rugged and interesting frankly. The property has been restored over several years by the owners who purchased the place as it was on the verge of collapse so there's many an interesting story about the renovation and the impressive steel work which rescued the building. For all that it has been renovated it isn't a place you can't relax in. On the contrary, as you walk through the door it instantly feels like home. At least it did to me. It's rustic, quirky, interesting and comfortable. We went as a group of 5 and the three bedrooms are all ful of character and romance. We were given full run of the huge kitchen and spent more of our evenings cooking, eating and drinking in the atmospheric setting. The owners have built a (serious!) pizza oven onto the the side of the property and one evening they treated us to an array of home made pizza which was brilliant. Especially wherne accompanied by local (really cheap!) excellent quality wines which are guarantee NOT to give you a hangover - believe me, they don't, I tried reallly hard to get one!! The star of 'the show' really is the view. You begin to appreciate it as you wind your way down the short hill from the (extremely good) restaurant's car park. But when you walk through the house to the south facing side, the views are astonishing. Apart from wehn it rained heavily (which it did a bit) at all times of day the lush, green, sweeping, forest-covered valley is nothing short of breathtaking and something you cannot tire of. You just can't. As you will have gathered (assuming you're still reading) we really enjoyed the place, the people, the scenery. But when you want a change of scenery you can be in the beautiful walled town of Luca in an hour, at the coast on fabulous beaches, or in 90 minutes you can be in Florence. But for me La Balconata has everything. It wont be everyone's cup of tea I'm sure. It is certainly rustic but in it's own luxurious way. Furthermore, you will find that you're up and down the stairs quite a bit as the kitchen is on the ground floor, the huge lounge (with wood burners - gorgeous!) is on the first floor, and the bedrooms at the top. But if you want to chill out in a glorious setting and not have to do much more than troll down to the excellent local supermarket occasionally, you will do well to find somewhere better. Our next visit can't come soon enough.see more
Tuscany Mountain Villa - Lucca Region
Fabulous house in an incredible place

The house is fabulous! The pittoresque medieval village of Vico Pancellorum is beautiful, ideally located to visit the northern part of Tuscany (Florence - 105 mins, Lucca - 45 mins, Pisa - 80 mins). The house is up in the mountains so you have to prepare for many hair pins and climbs, but drive is well worth it and beautiful on top. The house is great. It's very well equipped for large families (we're with 5) and it's beautifully decorated. We noticed that even though it has no air conditioning, the house was always at a very comfortable temperature (outside was some 33 degrees C on average). The pool also helped cooling down and was a hit with the kids. John and Cathy – the owners – have created a comprehensive document to help you make the most of your stay and that really works very well. Local knowledge of places to visit and restaurants to eat at really make staying at Casa Zola unforgettable. And, speaking of restaurants: Vico Pancellorum is locally well known for its restaurant Buca di Baldabò. We had the best pasta, secondi piatti and desserts we ever had at an incredible price – this alone is a must go-to! All in all, we had a great time at Casa Zola; we enjoyed the house, the view, the village and Tuscany on a larger scale. We will definitely come back again!see more
