“Beautiful villa in the Dordogne countryside” We spent two weeks at Le Maronnier in august 2011. We are a family of 5 - with 8 year old twin boys and a 7 month old baby. The villa is a fabulous barn conversion, beautifully restored and fabulously decorated in a very cosy and homely yet practical style. The owner has really thought of everything and the villa is well equipped with an excellent kitchen, utility room, comfortable bedrooms, 2 with ensuite bathrooms plus a great family bathroom and downstairs wetroom. There is sky tv, reliable and fast wifi and fabulous outdoor space with garden, table tennis, trampoline, badminton net, pool and decked area and wonderful vegetable patch - we couldn't eat the tomatoes fast enough! There is also a cot and highchair for the baby. The location is about an hour from Sarlat and the really busy tourist centre of the Dordogne and is located in a beautiful, peaceful rural setting which meant that we could spend time relaxing at the villa and the children had lots of space to play and explore and then on other days we went off and looked at castles, went canoeing down the river, explored the many lovely towns nearby and visited the caves. All in all a fabulous holiday - highly recommended.
