“A lovely and relaxing family villa” Located just off the N269 between Algoz and Silves, about 40 minutes drive from Faro Airport, Casa Alegre is a splendid villa on a hilltop with great views south over orange groves and the Algarve countryside. Although the intention some time ago appears to have been to build a complex of villas, very few of the plots have been built on, giving Casa Alegre a secluded feel. The villa is well looked after, both inside and out, and the grounds are very well kept. Everything we needed during our stay had been supplied and we could not think of any improvements that we could have suggested. Whilst there, we catered for ourselves on all but two nights and found the kitchen to be better equipped than our own at home. We put the barbecue area just outside the kitchen to good use, too. Silves and Algoz are both a 10 minute drive from the villa should you need any supplies - Silves has a supermarket and both have markets for fresh produce. Any type of beach that the Algarve has to offer is within 20 minutes drive of the villa, as are a water park, a sandcastle exhibition, a marine zoo and the historic attractions of Silves. If you're a bird-watcher, either sit on the veranda and wait or head down to the marshes by the sea. We had a fantastic, relaxing holiday and would definitely and strongly recommend this villa.
