Abruzzo is popular for its picturesque and sunny coast in the summer and its extensive network of ski slopes in the winter, making this an year round hotspot for holidaymakers. One third of the region is designated as a national park, and is a land of wild mountainous scenery, castles and remote villages. It is very close to Rome and Naples which makes it the ideal destination for sightseeing and activities. The area is fantastic for walking, horse-riding and cycling, and appeals to so many different types of visitors.
