This 150-year-old farmhouse has charm and lots of character. Surrounded by green fields, extensive gardens and a charming wetland small forest to visit, yet close (2.3 miles 10-minute drive) to the town of Thurles, near also to Kilkenny, Cashel and other local beauty sights in the Galtee Mountains. It has a working AGA as well as all mod cons (dishwasher, microwave, hob, oven), two tv's, a DVD player, High-quality music system, wifi. Four bedrooms are all ensuite (Master shower is power shower), and there is a downstairs (electric shower) bathroom. One bedroom is downstairs and would be suitable for a nimble wheelchair user (not the shower but the downstairs shower is wheelchair accessible).10th bed is a fold up camp bed. The setting makes for an ideal family or couples holiday- lots of local walks, a trampoline and place to kick football for the kids, a native forest walk, the town nearby for shops and restaurants and leisure centre, riding and historical castles and places to visit all within an hour of leaving home.

The Green topped bin is for general rubbish. Do NOT use BLACK BAGS FOR RUBBISH AS THE BIN MEN Won't TAKE ANYTHING OTHER THAN RYANS own bins. The red lid bin is for paper, tetra packs, cardboard and cleaned /washed plastic and clean tins. BOTTLES please to the BOTTLE BANK in Thurles PARNELL ST CAR PARK turn right at top of the town.

House rules

The local council in Thurles has a strict recycling policy. Guests have three rubbish collections. 1 is general rubbish - waste that cannot be recycled. Put into the bin under the sink. When full tie the bag and place it in the GREEN TRANSPARENT bag in the dustbin at the back door. If you are there for several days you can use a second green bag. 2. Dry paper, newspapers, cardboard, tin cans (clean) washed plastic, egg cartons go into the WHITE/TRANSPARENT bag. 3Compost bin for eggshells etc.

You have given only compliments but you were also fantastic guests, so easy to communicate with and left the house perfect in every way. You are welcome back any time! Only sorry we did not get time to show you some places. Kindest regards Joe and Deirdre Alone the lawn visible on the main picture has dimensions of approx. 25 x 25m. Football, cricket, frisbee and best of all: playing hide and seek ... here children do not necessarily have to live alone with NetFlix (which, incidentally, still exists when the darkness comes). We were 6 full days here and spent 2 days just around the house. A full description is almost impossible, so in a nutshell: Good beds in spacious bedrooms, unbelievable charm in decor and decoration, 2 living rooms with fireplace, good showers, a great Kettcar for the kids, cozy kitchen with permanently fired AGA stove / stove , fantastic terrace (we were lucky for the summer weather and could actually use this for food), around the house great landscaped gardens, entrance to the house about 100 meters long, very stately. You do not need to bring reading material with you: there is a mass of interesting and unusual books. As already written by other users, the pictures do not do justice to the house. The house is not a modern new building and has its corners and edges - due to the sheer size here and there a bit of dust :-) Unfortunately, you can hardly leave the property to walk to town. As so often in Ireland you have only a car width on the streets and the hedges are close to the road. So you need a car for everything. Thurles in 3 minutes reachable, numerous shopping possibilities, food-technically everything from pizza to high class. With Rock of Cashel, Cahir, Glen of Aherlow (awesome hikes), Kilkenny great discovery off the beaten track. Max. Distance to the house about 1 hour by car. We thought: the area is worth it. Very nice landlord - very fast answers - all the best.

How do damage deposits work?
