Nestled on the pristine southern coast of Crete, an unspoiled region blessed with breathtaking natural beauty, you will discover a handful of charming tavernas sprinkled along the coastline, flanked by magnificent sandy beaches. Amidst this idyllic backdrop lies Mary Beach Villa, where the traditional villages of the area, the rich history of the local Venetian castle, and the serene, tranquil atmosphere come together to create a perfect setting.

Mary Beach Villa is a modern and brand-new beachfront oasis, featuring three bedrooms and a private infinity pool that gazes out over the azure Libyan Sea. Just a few steps from the villa's doorstep, you'll find the secluded sandy beach of Laki. Nearby, three authentic taverns await, offering homemade dishes crafted from traditional recipes and locally sourced ingredients, all prepared upon request by the welcoming owners.

This single-level villa, covering 110 square meters, boasts high-end, contemporary luxury. It comprises a spacious, luminous living room with a comfortable sofa that can double as an additional bed if needed, complete with a TV, DVD player, and WiFi connectivity. The modern, open-plan kitchen is equipped with a ceramic stovetop, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and all the necessary utensils.

Three beautifully appointed bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower/WC and a family bathroom with a shower/WC and dual sinks, round out the villa's comfortable layout. The master bedroom features a king-size bed with sea views and direct access to the pool and veranda, while the second bedroom has two single beds, and the third bedroom boasts a double bed. All bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning units.

The living room opens up to the pool through a sliding door, and the private infinity pool spans 27 square meters. A covered terrace adjacent to the pool is the perfect spot for enjoying your meals with expansive sea views.

The village of Fragokastello is a mere 5 km away and offers additional amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants, and ATMs. The quaint village of Skaloti, located approximately 2 km from the villa, has a mini-market for your convenience.

Fragokastello Castle itself is a living piece of history, offering a window into a vibrant and revolutionary past. The castle's remains closely resemble its appearance when it was originally constructed in 1371. Above the main entrance, you'll find a sculpted slate with the Lion of Saint Mark and two Venetian feudal coat of arms.

The views of the majestic White Mountains are simply breathtaking and beckon you to embark on daily excursions. The European Hiking Footpath (E4) passes through Fragokastello, meandering through the enchanting Imbros Gorge and traversing the Kalikratis Gorge, both of which are easily accessible for exploration and hiking.

The crystalline, shallow, and warm seawater of the area harmonizes beautifully with the formation of sand dunes, providing endless hours of play and relaxation.

According to local legend, every year, on the anniversary of the Battle of Fragokastello (4-6 June), at dawn, a long procession of apparitions can be witnessed. Figures armed with weapons, pedestrians, and horse riders march from the church of Saint Charalambos toward the fort. This phenomenon occurs when the sea is calm and there is moisture in the atmosphere, lasting approximately 10 minutes. The figures reach the sea and vanish into it as the first rays of the sun appear. These apparitions are known as Drosoulites.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
