When you enter Sonningview apartment via the beautiful garden you will feel welcomed and right at home.

Your self contained suite is carpeted and furnished with comfort in mind. Quality furniture and decor designed to make your stay a memorable experience.

After a day out the garden lights greet you. Put your feet up with books, watch videos or TV and Netflix. The kitchen has a hotplate and microwave for simple meals. A quality front load washing machine takes care of your Laundry needs.

We are situated on historic Alexandra Battery overlooking the Derwent River in walking distance to Sandy Bay's Long Beach, shops and cafes.

Ten minutes by car to historic Battery Point and Salamanca. Buses on the corner pass the University and the city is 4.5km away.

Sonningview is ideally positioned for exploring Hobart's historic sights as well as taking day trips to the Huon Valley, Mt Field, Bruny Island and Port Arthur to discover the beauty and history of this lovely part of Tasmania.

We live in the adjoining house and are happy to share our in depth knowledge of Hobart's cultural attractions, restaurants and wineries.

We enjoy attending the MONA, art galleries, museums, theatre performances at the historic Theatre Royal and Tasmanian Symphony concerts. Classical concerts in churches and rock/jazz groups perform in many pubs around Hobart. Hobart has both bush and spectacular coastal walks in every direction. And numerous festivals year round.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Janina (the owner) a message.

If Janina (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
