The Granary is a luxuriously converted Victorian farm building, situated in its own courtyard garden, within the grounds of a 17th century Barn. It's rural location on a country lane, offers a delightful 'getting away from it all' feel whilst remaining accessible, at a distance of just a few miles from Junction 8 of the M20 in Kent.and close to Leeds Castle "the loveliest Castle in the World"
Renovated and totally refurbished, The Granary has a contemporary feel, with modern bathrooms and furnishings, yet retains its original character, with oak beams, floors and doors.
It has 3 bedrooms - including 2 on the ground floor
On the ground floor, the en-suite master bedroom with its glazed double doors, leads out onto courtyard garden,...the en-suite has a modern shower.
Also on ground floor is a Twin bedroom, with family bathroom opposite .
Stairs lead from hallway to another double bedroom on first floor, also with glazed window (please note the external staircase is no longer in situ)
All bedrooms have wardrobes, and there is a Travel cot and High Chair at the property, on demand if required. The modern, fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with kitchen items and features an island with breakfast stools, along with a Range cooker, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, Microwave and large Fridge/Freezer. The open plan Dining/Living room area features a large dining table with seating for six, and a large, modern leather corner sofa. The property has Sky Q TV, a DVD player with a selection of DVD movies, and wifi, though its important to note, due to our rural location, some mobile phone signals can be sporadic!
There is ample parking and the Granary has its own gated driveway, leading to its landscaped Courtyard garden with patio (and garden furniture during the summer.)
The property is perfectly located for the wealth of attractions the Weald of Kent has to offer, including Leeds Caste (4miles), and National Trust properties at Sissinghurst, Bodiam Castle, Smallhythe Place, Scotney Castle and Stoneacre.
Headcorn is a ten minute drive away, with its local shops, Sainsburys Local, airfield and interesting World War Two museum and events.
A 25minute drive takes you to the Jewel of the Weald, which is Tenterden, with it's delightful high street, shops, cafes, restaurants, along with a beautiful vineyard and a very special Steam Railway.
Medieval Rye and the wonderful sand dune beach at Camber are another 25mins on from Tenterden, and a 'must' for a day out.
And other must visits are Canterbury, Chatham Dockyard, and Whitstable - all popular day trips with previous guests.
For the serious shopper, Maidstone offers two excellent Shopping Malls, and approx 35mins away is the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Centre, at Ashford.
Day trips to France are easily accessible via the Eurotunnel - three junctions along on the M20 (approx 30miles)
The nearest station is Staplehurst with direct trains (every 30mins) to Charing Cross, London Bridge and Waterloo (Journey time is approx 1hour)
The property is also located near to several Golf Courses, including the Nick Faldo designed Chart Hills and the Weald of Kent Golf Club which is just minutes from the end of the lane. Fishing is also available locally and pleasure flights and balloon trips over the Kent countryside can be taken from Headcorn Airfield.
Teresa and Steve look forward to welcoming guests to their lovely property - and have many details available of plenty of eating, drinking and 'fun' places to recommend within this beautiful area.
Please note: There is a large pond in the owners garden, which is fenced off from The Granary, but families with young children need to be aware of this...although the area is fenced off, it’s a rustic fence with foliage at the end with the possibility of gaps through to the owners garden. Plus an interconnecting Gate between the properties (which we request remains locked for this reason )
Also, despite being in a delightfully rural location, the Granary is not isolated, and there are neighbours within the vicinity - hence it's not suitable as a 'party destination' !
