From the owner

This old stone cottage built between 1830 -1850 is tucked away at the archway entrance to the Cloverhill Estate. This cottage is surrounded by gardens and woodland. The magic of this cottage is undeniable .

Originally built for the Gate Keeper this cottage reflects heritage with rustic simplicity.

Though some features and fittings have been replaced, the survival of historic features, including the label mouldings and timber bargeboards add to its character and charm

The cottage consists of three bedrooms which are individuality named.

Tulip

Daffodil has two windows which look out on Cloverhill. It has a king size bed.

Bluebell takes in the views of the country side

It has a double bed.

Tulip is the bedroom downstairs and it has two single beds and a toilet .

All bedrooms have wooden floors and the upstairs bedrooms have sloping ceilings.

The sitting room, with a wood burning stove this sitting room creates the perfect homely, relaxing space.

The kitchen looks out on the wild garden, which displays a carpet of colour with mature Azalea ,Rhododendrons and Dahlias, which provide the perfect habitat for bees and butterflies.

Interaction with guest

I always make sure to be available to meet my guests if for some reason I am unavailable my husband will greet my guests and hand over the keys. We live across the garden from the Gate Lodge so therefore we are hands -on all the time should guests need anything. I do welcome a text or phone call 1 hour before arrival as this time allows me to add the extra touch to the cottage. .

The Gate Lodge was a perfect getaway. It is located with easy access to the north and south, rural and Dublin. June was a great host, kind and thoughtful but not overbearing. Would highly recommend.

A fantastic setting in the Irish countryside. Nothing was to much trouble for our lovely host June. Great base for exploring and then home to a beautiful , traditional cottage . Highly recommend!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I retract my booking request?

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send June (the owner) a message.

If June (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
