Our Opera Jokai Unit is a very comfortable, newly renovated unit with great location - a short three minute walk from the famous Andrassy Utca, the Champs Elysees of Budapest. The nearest metro stop at Okatgon on metro line 1 is a three minute walk. The Metro 1 is a UNESCO World Heritage listed line and is the second oldest metro system in Europe, after the London Underground. It is a fascinating working antique line, with Hero Square and the City Park five minutes to your left (north) and the City Centre ten minutes to your right (south). The National Opera Theatre is only 5mins walk.
You can also use tram 47 or 49 to take you south east to Central Market or onwards across the River Danube to the famous Gellert Spa Baths and Buda Castle. You can take Metro 1 to the end of the line at Vorosmarty Utca where you can drink hot chocolate and listen to the buskers in Vorosmarty Square.
There are many shops and restaurants around Oktagon, There is an excellent restaurant three minutes to your left at Andrassy and for simple necessities such as milk and bread, there is a CBA supermarket a three minute walk to the left from your front door. There is also a large convenience market in Csengery Street, which is a 10 minute walk south on Andrassy then left at Csengery.
Budapest also has one of the best public transport systems in Europe and it makes getting around the city a delight. You can access all parts of Pest and Buda using the network of trams, metros and buses with ease. We would suggest buying a general transport pass from one of the information booths in Vorosmarty Square or any main metro station. The transport pass will allow you to use any transport system for 24 hrs, 3 days, a week, month or three months, depending on the ticket you buy.
As you can see from the photos, the unit has everything you could need with WIFI and high quality German white products etc, antique Hungarian furniture and high quality bedding and decoration. It has 1 lounge (dining and bed room),1 kitchen and 1 bath room . 4 people can sleep in the unit comfortably (1 double bed and 1 double sofa bed). The flat is in an old classical building with original wood flooring, 1 meter thick walls and 3.8 meter high ceilings. We have written a flat manual which will tell you all best things to do around the city. We have a local house carer to handle the keys and we can also arrange airport pick up required.
Hungary is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and is called the Paris of Eastern Europe. However, it is much cheaper than Paris or London, as they still use their own currency - 1 Euro currently equals 300 Hungarian Forint (HUF). Food, beverages, entertainment and transport are typically half the cost of the UK, France or Germany, with often better quality.
Welcome to Hungary and to our Opera Jokai unit. We can 100% guarantee that you will have a memorable stay here.
