From the owner

Frangipani house is a colonial style property located in Northern Thalpe near Unawatuna..it's slightly elevated position overlooks the paddy fields. The house has a comfortable, open plan sitting room, with satellite TV and WIFi . There are ceiling fans in every room including the terrace. Master bedroom has a 4 poster super king size bed with thick comfortable mattress , draped in mosquito nets. Large full length mirror and built in wardrobe. Second bedroom also has a king size bed with thick mattress and mosquito nets. Third bedroom has 4 poster twin beds with mosquito nets. A baby's cot is also available . En-suite bathrooms to all bedrooms. Second bathroom has an electric shower for hot water as well as a cold water rainfall shower. Dining area is situated on the terrace, there is also a dining table in the kitchen. Table sits 6 people, an infants high chair is also available. The house has British and European electric sockets. All bed linen and towels are provided. There is a chef upon request. High beamed ceilings allow a gentle breeze to cool the house from the heat of the mid day sun. Sun beds are provided on the terrace for guests to chill,out and relax. The terrace offers magnificent views across the paddy fields and forest.

I was very sorry to hear that the house had not met your expectations. I have discussed the issues you raised with Ranil my house keeper. He assured me that the problem with the bathroom had been addressed. The problem had been caused by recent heavy rains, common in Sri Lanka, as are mosquitoes and bugs. However, I do appreciate your comments, as without feedback from guests I would not be able to improve standards. I was disappointed to learn that you had made the decision to leave early and then request a refund. As per TripAdvisor policy, refunds are given when guests experience no access to the property. As the house was available and habitable and you chose to leave, a refund will not be granted on this occasion.

Why can't I call Julie (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Julie (the owner) a message.

If Julie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
